Epmd with crossover too -
4 stars, people think I hate premo n boom bap but I always fooled with several gangstar songs, especially during my "real hip hop" phase as a kid. I even "sampled" this beat
-
I remember my local radio station playing the instrumental during the traffic report in the morning..
-
Idk when the ? , how the ? or what the ? but it's amazing how Preme found that sample.
Ive listened to the original track several times and that ? is absolutely NOWHERE to be found. It takes skill to flip something like that and turn it into what we know as Mass Appeal. -

This, probably the first boom bap NY ? I heard almost ruined eastcoast hip hop for me. It took Juicy to drop to get me back interested in the coast. -
great song one of my favorites. I listen to it every few days.
A lot of rappers be like one time wonders
Couldn't say a fly rhyme if there was one right under
Their noses, I hate those ? posers
But I'm so real to them it's scary
And with my unique skills nag you can't compare me -
one of my top 5 fav tracks of all time.
the bass on this was immaculate. -

It only took two seconds to make a classic beat. -
Classic. Around this time is when Primo was becoming the go to producer.
I always rocked with Gangstarr, but this song right here is what made me want to produce. -

Good ear cause its very very short but its there.
Damn how the ? could Preme pick up that 2 second change and add that to all the other stuff to make this beat.
When I think of people like Issac Hayes and Curtis Mayfield and how they arranged ALL of their music without samples I am truly amazed and impressed. -
