Dude wasnt even his prime yet and is younger than Pau Gasol smh
It is sad how Yao's loyalty to China helped cause his body to break down. The guy was a good player and was validating the #1 pick hype.
Can you elaborate -

He never really rested too much in the off seasons, playing competitive ball with china -
Lance on pelicans now
Him n tyreke gona dribble for 23 secs
Tyreke is still having knee problems and won't be ready to start the season, it's the reason we had to pick up Lance since Jrue Holiday is unreliable -
How the ? is Yao Ming in the HOF

I think it's more so him being such a being symbol of the NBA to China. He had a decent career, but it was too short to be HOF worthy, so him being a "global ambassador" for the game gave him the extra push needed. -

Hall of Fame accounts for international play as well. -

Really? -
Yao shouldn't be a first ballot HOF'er but he deserved to be in there
-
Stephon marbury HOF or nah?

At this point it dont matter because we know the levels..
I always felt that Horry should be in there.. of course hes not a HOF elite level player but his clutch shooting in big moments starting with Houston and ending with San Antonio hes worthy in that regard.. not on the merit of worldly talent compared to others -
the naismith memorial HOF is easily the most watered down HOF among the 4 big sports
i dont care for it
but that AI ? was cool man i had so many iverson shoes, jerseys and a black iverson velour sweatsuit in middle school lol
his emergence came at a transitional period for the nba too with the GOAT leaving
like a full 180 from the previous generation of players
whether you think he overrated or not it doesnt dimish his impact on the game
its imbedded in our basketball culture
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-Q7b-vHY3Q
and its cool how iverson talks about the current crop of guys
seems like he thoroughly enjoys watching as a fan -

this line about kobe from a deangelo russell piece
Russell wasn’t perfect, but no rookie is. It couldn’t have been easy playing with Kobe, who used possessions as often as Stephen Curry while scoring as efficiently as Josh Smith, and shot as many 3s as Kevin Durant with the accuracy of Jared Sullinger.

interesting article though -
Yeah watching Bean every game was tough. Glad he had his day in the sun In the finale but yeah it was rough.
But
I was reading that article the other day. A good one
Basically echoed a lot of the stuff I was posting in here during the season in regards to Russell.

the ringer has had some good articles
they had one on justin blackmon too
check it out when you got time
heres an excerptThat spring, NFL scouts and executives flocked to Oklahoma. Blackmon appeared to be a lock to become the first receiver taken. In a radio interview, Hall of Fame quarterback Warren Moon called him Dez Bryant “with all of his brain cells.” Dombek, Blackmon’s high school football coach, recalls members of the Jaguars’ front office coming to town to ask him about Blackmon. “They wanted to know everything,” Dombek says. “Everything.” The Buccaneers, who owned the fifth pick, sent a scout to Stillwater to sit in a bar for a week, their then general manager, Mark Dominik, later told Colin Cowherd. “We checked,” Dominik said, “how many times did Justin Blackmon come in? And he came in too many times.” The Bucs traded their pick to the Jags.

Russell not playing up to his potential, ain't got ? to do with Kobe, Or deangelo. it had everything to do with Coach Folded Arms Scott. -

What did he ever accomplish on an intl level? No way dude belongs in the HOF even if you credit him as an ambassador it's not enough.
