Black people in this country shouldn't have to pay federal taxes anyway as far as I'm concerned we are all being extorted by this racist country

Nelly done too much in his career not to have a few milli laying around ..... dude worth like 50 M's

Well he was signed to universal. I doubt much of that money from the streams will go to nelly directly.
-
If Nelly ain't got 2.5 Ms in a bank account somewhere...he's the fool. But something tells me he ain't tripping off this ? .
-
As of 2016 Nelly has a net worth of 60million. There should be no reason why he hasnt paid this 2.5 yet
-
Lol, his fans are streaming all his music to help him raise money
-
Them fans dumb as hell if they think he don't have the bread.

I thought you still get prison time regardless of whether you can pay or not. -

You already know u can't avoid it.
They do, it's just bad accounting. A lot of rappers prefer to be paid in cash when they tour or do shows because they support large entourages. But what clubs and venues do is if they pay cash there's no way to say for sure what was actually paid so they'll write off the expenses onto the event. Say Nelly is to he paid 100k for an appearance but the even costs 500k, they'll do their taxes and mark expenses as 300k or whatever. When the IRS looks at it they think it's 300k paid to the rapper. There's still another huge misconception that if you get paid in another state you don't have to pay taxes there if you live somewhere else like Florida where there's no state tax, but that's not true. Which is another misconception.
People prefer to be paid cash cuz they think you don't have to pay taxes because it's "under the table" and no one can know for sure what was paid. The thing is, businesses, venues and clubs normally track their money and where it goes. If the IRS wants to know they just follow the money. On Nelly's accountant's part since it was cash there was no real way to mark it down so they prolly told him it didn't need to be filed. That's why you hear about ? like this with athletes and rappers.
That ain't really a good excuse though. It's one thing for cats just getting in to make these kinds of mistakes, but Nelly has been around a while. He's been in the game long enough that he should have known to get his ? straight. Even making he was making, he wouldn't have built up a 2 million dollar tax bill overnight unless he just didn't pay taxes at all for the first couple of years. Barring that, he probably just established bad financial habits, got away with it for a long time, and figured he didn't need to settle up. -
It worked. Hot in here getting major spins
