What's funny is Drake seems to bring out such emotions in ? over the pettiest ? . Last year it was Meek mad he ain't tweet his album now Cudi mad because Kanye doing an album with Drake....? is hilarious he makes ? snap like this
-
How many rapper-singers was out here shaking before 808s
808s made possible by 3000
I don't even have to hear him say it to know 3000 inspired Ye to make 808s,
All that other ? y'all talking is production..y'all still haven't named one person Cudi influenced outside of Travis Scott
The Drake one is BS, they don't do the same thing and Drake is of the same rapper who can't sing singing tree as 3000(except 3000 actually is a better singer than these ? except maybe Donald Glover)
like I said earlier Kanye took TLB and made it easier to comprehend/replicate for the less elevated lol -
Cudi might have a point if his music wasn't so ? nowadays. He keeps his musical circle small, fair enough, and if the ? he's making is really what he wants to make, then fair enough again, but you can't diss the artists with 30 writers if their ? is better than yours.

It seems like everybody is confusing FIRST with INFLUENTAL. 3K my man a hunned grand but NOBODY tried recreating the love below(? was still scared)
When cudi came out though it was a slew of "emotional crooning" from rappers (ye and tummy tuck included)
He started a wave. -
I refuse to argue with crackers...as far as kid kuddi i only like college drop all that other ? trash...if i wana a singing rapper....ill go nelly country grammar...or early ja rule...
-
That day and night ? was cool. Everything else is eh including 808s. By the way The Love Below was heartbreaking if you respect Andre 3000 as a Hip Hop artist.

ericb4prez wrote: »Just exactly which artists did Outkast influence cuz the other day y'all was blaming Wayne for these new ? lol
For one Kendrick Lamar...
From The Love Below

Never made it through a whole Cudi album

No it wasn't
I'm over this
Y'all frustrating -
Who would have thought Cudi had this much fans on the IC. Lol, ? mention drake though and suddenly they're retroactively groundbreaking and revolutionary.
-
Never made it through a whole Cudi album
this....his music is trash....? aint out here like hold on slime let me put this Cudi album on.... -
"I wear skinny jeans first"
Yep that's why Kanye will never be the same
First it was Two Words Chi-town, South Side, Worldwide
Now just Two Words Skinny Jeans, I'm Hurt
... ? fell off. He did it to himself tho.. -

Cudi was obviously influenced by outkast, that is without question. however, outkast sound is more earthy and funky, similar to hip hop parliament funkadelic, in terms of sound. They influenced a lot directly, and to me, i hear it all over kendrick's last couple albums.
as for Cudi his sound is more spacey, minimalist, and airy. It is not as grounded in funk and plays with empty space a whole lot more than outkast does overall. If you think about the tempo and sounds of Day N Night...to me that is how modern music sounds. Play lil Yatchy Minnesota and tell me if it sounds more like Outkast or Day N Night. and there are tons of songs that sound like Minnesota now.
not to mention even the way lil yatchy is flowing is less rap and more some kinda sing/songy hybrid that is more like a step child to rap. I think that style of rapping, while not really being a "rapper" is prevalent, in part, because of the success of kid cudi. Of course he didn't create it, but the whole package of that sound of music, to me, is directly tied to him, and further down the line, outkast, and even all the way to p-funk if you really want to keep going...
however, all these little 21 year olds making music now didn't grow up on outkast, when they were in 7th and 8th grade, day n night was getting heavy airplay and 808s came out, and drake blew up....so i dont see a problem with saying that these 20 year olds were influenced heavily by that sound, when it was the ? that was popping right when they were becoming teens. -
kid kudi shoudlnt send shots at Kanye. Thats disrespectful. Thats same as Kanye West would say "? Jay Z" . ? dont make sense
Never bite the hand that feeds you aka made you -
I give zero ducks about cudi..But he ain't lyin

After hours and hours of trial and error I came (pause) to the conclusion that the easiest way to find him is by typing "Greg Porn"...

Cudi didn't influence anybody
-
That ? really hurt Kanye feelings.
I almost heard College Dropout Ye when he spoke on it. Ye Kardashian couldn't let too much realness show. -
*sigh*
Look...blessings to you all but there are some really ignorant and unintelligent posts in this thread. I've said this before, the blueprint for all these dudes these days is 808's & Heartbreaks and Cudi's DNA is ALLLLLLLLLLLLL over that album.
Kanye didn't birth Cudi seeing as though A Kid Named Cudi was already popping and was the reason WHY Kanye signed him in the first place.
Cudi was never popping or has no good music? Both MOTM albums are fantastic pieces of music and if you didn't listen to them then you're missing out. 2 gold albums, 2 platinum singles, and a gold single says dude was popping at some point.
Also being the first to do something doesn't mean you made it pop. Tony Hawk didn't create skateboarding...yet he made it pop and popularize it didn't he? For the most part nobody really remember who created something, but who made it hot. And Cudi made this style hot. -
