Solange has announced a new album called A Seat at the Table. It’s out this Friday, September 30, via Saint Records/Columbia. The album features Lil Wayne, Dev Hynes, Sampha, Moses Sumney, Q-Tip, Kelly Rowland, The-Dream, BJ the Chicago Kid, Kelela, Sean Nicholas Savage, and others. Dope album I liked it a lot. Was smooth all the way through. I didn't know this while I was listening, but I heard somebody say tweet had background vocals on a couple songs. Hopefully I catch it on the second listen.

Heard it was album of the year on the Budden podcast, stickied.

Solange Has the No. 1 Album in America
Solange’s latest album A Seat at the Table has claimed the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart, Billboard reports. The album sold 72,000 equivalent album units with 46,000 of those in traditional album sales. A Seat at the Table is Solange’s first album to reach No. 1. Previously, her highest charting album was 2008’s Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams, which peaked at No. 9. Bon Iver’s new album 22, A Million, which was predicted for a No. 1 debut, charted at No. 2 with 71,000 units. -

Really good album the whole way through. One of the best all year. Vocally, she sounds alot like Aaliyah.
