Yeah I've been reading that people don't want to support a ? blah blah. Funny thing is if we knew about everybody's pasts there would be a lot of ? that we wouldn't be supporting right now. I bet if Nate Parker made another one of them every couple year slave movies, or another one of those rich white people who loves their poor black butler/maid stories that movie would've went on without a hitch. Madea finna make a killing though for real smh.

I already said this another thread....but im too faint hearted to see the graphic nature of slavery. Haven't seen 12 years or them other recent movies for that reason. I'm glad nat turner story is out there tho cuz it deserves to be told, which is why I supported it by spending money on it. -
I saw that movie on Court St in Brooklyn Friday night. That ? was PACKED. You live in a square-ass city.

U brought up 12 years a slave. That did 6.6 million the first week....Yet u crying about 7.1 million?
what type of #'s were u expecting? 50 million the first week?
Before the "the birth" came out, Fox expected 7-10 million the first weekend.
Despite critics panning it left and right, and those things trying to sabotage it.
Its only sunday, and we're at 7 already. Yesterday morning we was at 2. by tommorow morning when the total box office #'s come out. i expect it to be at 9-10...
So what are y'all ? about?
The movie is meeting expectations.
The Great Debaters debuted at No. 11 in its first weekend with a total of $6,005,180 from 1,171 venues. The film grossed $30,236,407 in the US.
If "the birth" does that off a 10million independently funded budget. Brought for 17 mill. That ? did great..
