Financial Times: Trump Son-In-Law Met With Investor About Trump TV Network

Donald Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, who has been very involved in the Republican nominee's campaign, met with an investor about possibly launching a Trump television network, the Financial Times reported Monday morning.

Kushner, who is married to Ivanka Trump, met with Aryeh Bourkoff, the founder and CEO of the investment bank LionTree, some time within the past couple of months, the Financial Times reported, citing three unnamed sources.

According to the Financial Times, the "conversation was brief and has not progressed since."

Throughout Trump's presidential campaign, speculation and reports about Trump's interest in using his presidential bid to launch a television network have percolated. Vanity Fair reported in June that Trump asked Kushner and Ivanka Trump to look into launching a media organization.

Trump in September denied that he is looking into starting his own network along with former Fox News executive Roger Ailes, who has become involved in Trump's campaign.

"No, never did,” he told the Washington Post when asked about rumors that he is considering launching a media venture with Ailes. “I want to win the presidency, and I want to make America great again. It’s very simple. I have no interest in a media company. False rumor.”

So looking back, somebody sum up why bernie sanders didnt get the nomination? I wasnt following dude that heavy but it seemd with all the clinton hate he should have got in over her? Was he somehow worse than her???

    @farris2k1

    Why did he lose?

    FUNCTIONALLY?

Sanders lost because he failed completely to win the minority vote.

He lost in 90.5 percent of states with an African American population over 10 percent.

Not dissimilar to his results in states with prevalent populations of other minorities.

You don't win the Democratic Primaries without having a modicum of minority support.

    IDEOLOGICALLY?

Personally, I think his platform was too radical, too soon.

    - 100% Tuition Free College for everyone
    - Completely centralized, Federal Healthcare
    - Breaking up large and systemically important U.S. Financial institutions.

A lot of what he proposed wasn't radical in and of itself ... but it was radical for where we are in America.

The largest country in the world does not turn a complete 180 overnight. And not without a sensible plan for change management and transition.

IMO, if somehow he got elected, we would see more political discord than progress... just imagine Obama's opposition multiplied by a significantly more liberal platform with no incentive for cooperation.

Then again, even if he got his way - a lot of his proposals and aspects of his platform, I flat out disagree with.

Most notably, his indifference toward real world consequences for his unbalanced, socialist proposals.

I am happy to lay some of my concerns, if you are interested.

In the worst case scenario, however, Sanders would be too radical and unapologetically socialist to even get elected President...

Then we would have to deal with extreme conservative Supreme Court Justices, a disaster for the economy, Cut funding for education, further squeezing of the middle class, no action to curb police violence and mitigate the school to prison pipeline and ...

    ? forbid - a Donald Trump Presidency.

That's one man's opinion. You'd have to ask others for theirs.

But, ideally, you should do your research and form your own.

Fam, nitpickin here but the UsA is not the largest country in the world nor is the population density high - like 700k people live in Sanders home state - so on state lvl, ? could change fast...

The only reason Bernie Sanders couldn't pull the Black vote was Clinton brand recognition. All Hillary had to do was ride Bill's coat tails. For whatever reason, Black people 35 and up love Bill Clinton and she inherited that love.

Cmon fam. You are being obtuse.

Size is not only reflected in the dimension of population.

Gross Domestic Product, Economic infrastructure, Governmental complexity, Political Process.

Do you disagree that large, sweeping changes inspired by extreme Socialism would need a very methodical, and measured approach to be successful or even entertained in "one of the largest countries" on earth?

One of the things I've heard folks say is they like his policy issues, but didn't think he could win the election. They may not like Hillary, but she had a higher chance of winning than he did.

Rigged how? Unless the DNC went under every one of those voting booths and pressed "Hillary Clinton" during the primary for the people, then it wasn't rigged.

Now they did favor her over Bernie, and tried to influence folks. That's fact of course. But at the end of the day, it was up to the PEOPLE to vote who they wanted. Same wit the GOP primaries.

Her super delegate count was pretty outrageous. I think the DNC should get rid of super delegates ,it shows too much favoritism to the more established candidate.

Ehh...true. But I still think she would've won. Folks liked Bernie, but didn't have full trust he would win. Plus like someone mentioned, he waited too late.

It was mostly about who would give the Dems the best chance to win the presidency.

Super Delegates voiced their support for her, but the vote didn't occur until the convention. When she was running against Barrack, they supported her, but switched up when the voters chose Barrack. Vocal support doesn't equal an actual super delegate vote. In actuality, they can vote for who they please, but they have always gone for whoever won in the primary. Not having Super Delegates is how you end up with Trump. They created that in the first place because they had a candidate that had no chance but they couldn't get rid of him. The party at the end of the day is private and you as an independent don't have to participate. The General election is the real vote. Primaries are all about picking the candidate to represent the party. At one point in history, party members couldn't vote on who the party leaders wanted as a candidate.

Undercover: How the DNC employs agent provocateurs to start fights at Trump events

“I’m saying we have mentally ill people, that we pay to do sh*t, make no mistake,”

    says Foval in the video.
“Over the last twenty years, I’ve paid off a few homeless guys to do some crazy stuff, and I’ve also taken them for dinner, and I’ve also made sure they had a hotel, and a shower. And I put them in a program. Like I’ve done that. But the reality is, a lot of people especially our union guys. A lot of our union guys…they’ll do whatever you want. They’re rock and roll.

Women across the United States are staging blockades against Donald Trump

Dozens of black-clad women staged a sit-in outside of Trump Tower in midtown Manhattan on Tuesday as part of a nationwide blockade against the Republican presidential nominee.

Marching down Fifth Avenue toward Trump Tower and numerous TV cameras at 7:30 a.m., protesters held signs that read "GOP Hands Off Me" and "? Fights Back," in reference to comments made by Donald Trump on a 2005 audio tape, including saying he grabs women “by the ? .” The women protesters also banged on pots and pans, tooted kazoos and, in one case, played the saxophone.

As they shouted chants including, "Back up, back up, we want freedom, freedom, tell the sexist GOP that we don't need 'em, need 'em," a handful of police officers kept watch outside Trump Tower. Several passersby by stopped and stared, while others walked by with bemused looks on their faces.

Tuesday's demonstration was led by women who say they are survivors of sexual assault. Protesters in New York urged women to avoid voting for Trump and the Republican Party. They also called on GOP members to withdraw their endorsements of Trump. Protests were also being held in other locations, including outside Trump properties in Miami and Washington, D.C.

“I worked in the service industry and in restaurants all through high school and college. Sexual assault and harassment is nothing to be joked about, from personal experience,” protester Lila Carpenter tells Newsweek. “The thought of the GOP endorsing that action is terrifying because they’re one of the largest and most powerful institutions in our country.”

Viviana Bernal, who does advocacy work for a nonprofit in New York City, says Trump is making the U.S. a dangerous country. “People are feeling emboldened by him, the hateful rhetoric against women, against immigrants. It’s all being heightened by him,” she says.

“The remarks that he made represent the ? culture that exists in our society right now. He admitted to basically sexually assaulting women on the tape,” adds Bernal. “We’re here because we can’t have a president who actually does that, who endorses sexual assault of women. It’s a combination of the ? culture that he represents, but also the anti-immigrant sentiments that he expressed and the straight up xenophobia and racism that he also represents.”

Since the release of the audio tape earlier this month, nine women have come forward with allegations that Trump engaged in sexually predatory behavior. Trump’s wife, Melania, said on Monday her husband’s comments were just “boy talk.”

Jodeen Olguín-Tayler, a sexual assault and ? survivor who helped organize the New York protest, said: "For me, coming out is part of the work of getting over the shame—and what would make me a horrible liar would be to stay silent in this moment when the Republican Party has decided to put forward a sexual predator as their candidate for president."

One of the few men at the protest, Christian Jimenez, of Flushing, Queens, says he speaks with male and female friends about Trump’s comments.

“Donald Trump hasn’t been the best candidate for me. Someone was actually ? by my house just yesterday. Everything he says appeals to ? culture,” says Jimenez. “We should be striving away from that, [but instead] if he says ‘grab them by the ? ,’ people are like, ‘Yeah, you know what? He seems like a good president.’”

The Trump campaign didn't immediately respond to request for comment.
