How do i percieve sexual education for the child?
I see it as something that need to be explain IN ACCORDANCE with the childs age. It one thing to explain them summary style parental love and the pregnancy, its another to implement DETAILS. Matter of fact
They dont need to know all this
They wont understand all the complexity of sexuality.
They got their own teenagehood to go further.
However we all know the danger of children being exposed early to mature sexuality without explanation too. And we do live in a time and age where sex is the most available media, thanks to the internet connected smartphones. Thus, parents dont hold the reins and timing about sexual education : there is a risk that media will do it for them.
That gives us the perception of sexual education being something mandatory to be controled by educated parents. They cannot hide behind shyness and tabos, cause right now they got to COUNTER COMMUNICATE against the ocean of porn available. As never before, sexual education is getting important. Cause children exposed to porn at an early age are at risks of getting traumatized, phobic, etc. They will develop a false perception of love and sex. The effect will be feeled by the victims later.
To conclude goodbye to the times where puritans could not talk about it, goodbye to the times where the only risk is that little Tommy could see an old ? pic from daddy. The commected world is at home and at school. In the toilets too. If we dont communicate and filter sexual education, we are surenderring the child to the outside worlds dangers of a commercial, adult sexuality.
