5th Letter- Where are you from?
Built 4 cuban linx- I'm originally from the South Bronx... Right across the freeway from 1520 which is the building were kool herc started throwing his hip hop parties. Now I live in upstate New York. Not that far out. I might move back by the beginning of next year tho
5th Letter- What's it like growing up in the South Bronx?
Built 4 cuban linx- In home everything was great. My mom And step father is a hard workers. So we always had food on the table, never had a problem needing anything. As for the neighborhood it was dangerous. I always got into fights in school, hell even daycare. My mother was anyways strict with me. Ever seen "everybody hates Chris"? She's EXACTLY like Rochelle. Personality is a straight carbon copy lol. Everywhere she went I went. I was honestly not allowed to leave the crib because the neighborhood was dangerous. Homework had to be done etc. She kept me real close to her at all times. Especially when some kid in my daycare had gotten killed. He was walking home with his mother and a shoot out happened and he got shot in his side. Always kids outside doing dumb ? and my moms used to tell me, "I'll be damn if y'all turn out like that". My mother had me when she was 20, worked everyday and did night school. While my ? mother had me a few days. She worked incredibly hard to get were she was at. My stepfather was a hard worker also but he was always out also doing overtime to help provide for us also. Tho he is my stepfather, dude has took care of me since I was 3, like he was my actual pops. I never had to want for anything. Stomach was always full. Alot of weekends we have a night out in Manhattan. Go to a nice resturant over there. They was always there for me. I couldn't ask for better parents
5th Letter- If you don't mind answering what do you do for a living?
Built 4 cuban linx- Technician for cablevision for now. I took alot of NYC test these past few years. My moms told me to take every test I could. "don't put all your eggs in one basket". So I did. I took Firefighter, school security, police officer, bus operator, and also track worker for the subway. I heard that track worker is the start off point for the subway. I passed all so I'm waiting for those to get set up.
5th Letter- What do you ultimately want to do?
Built 4 cuban linx- Firemen mainly then Subway. Ever since I was young I've had a fasination with how the whole subway system work. I just found it amazing how they built all that ? underground. Also when I was in school i used to write scripts and poetry. I'm thinking about getting back into that. Hopefully get published. My father took me years ago to a coffee club in manhattan where people told there their short stories and mainly poetry over live instruments. One comedian who bombed something serious. It was hard to watch. I would love to perform there. I performed in my high school when we had poetry readings and shorts. I always wanted to do that again. Maybe perform in one of those manhattan clubs while someone plays their jazz piece would be cool
5th Letter- How did you get into hip hop?
Built 4 cuban linx- Being in the Bronx, I heard it everywhere. barbershops, playgrounds, cookouts, etc. Getting played out of cars. and for some reason out of towners say theres no cars here its only subways or some ? . idk what the hell they talking about. anyway, I heard alot of biggie, jayz, ruff ryders(the lox, dmx, eve), raekwon. I remember when peter gunz and lord tariq came out with uptown baby, that got played alot in the BX. I just dont understand why the hell its a BX song but the ? video is recorded in queens. Anyway even tho my moms was mostly into old school R&B like luthor, candi staton, anita baker, al green, etc she had a few hip hop cds. Jayz vol2, snoop ? , biggie life after death. she played them a few times. she ended up buying me my own cd player when I was 11 on christmas. got me the jayz dynasty album, nelly country grammar and some source awards cd. she got tired of me raiding her cd collection so Whenever a new album dropped from a great artist she copped it for me such as nas stillmatic, blueprint, marshall mathers, and whenever nelly dropped something. I was a big nelly fan growing up. I get flagged and wacked on here for saying country grammar is a classic but hey, Its apart of my childhood. when life was more simple. no bills and ? , just being a kid. When I got older, my friends just started burning me cds.
5th Letter- Who are your favorite and least favorite rappers?
Built 4 cuban linx- Favorite all time
Nas, tupac, Ghostface killah, biggie, redman, raekwon(hell lets just say all the Wu in general). DMX, Mos def, black thought, chuck d, jayz, the lox, scarface, O.C, Big L, Masta ace, mf doom, Ice cube, ras kass, busta, slick rick, rakim, BDK, kool G, A tribe called quest, Boot camp clik
Favorite out now
Absoul, Lupe fiasco, killer mike, Reks, oddisee, ? jenkins, kendrick, cole, freddie gibbs, banks, 50 cent, pusha T, roc mariano, royce, dave east, Czarface, skyzoo, crooked I, asap mob, fashawn, evidence, yelawolf, yes yelawolf, rapsody, blu, termanology, torae, rick ross, and im actually starting to like some of futures music believe it or not. im sure theres more that im forgetting Dislike Young thug( the only word Ive ever understood him say was "lifestyle"), and a bunch of them ringtone rappers. I hated the snap era with a passion
5th Letter- How did your affinity for the Wu Tang Clan begin?
Built 4 cuban linx- Like everyone I always heard the singles when I was young. Like method Man you're all I need with Mary, ghost all i got is you, and ice cream. When I got older and started to dislike what was going on in the mainstream. I ended up going back to the music that was big before I was born and just a little kid. In the mid 2000s,My friend let me borrow his 36 chambers album and he never got that ? back. He still ? about it till this day. I ended up checking out their solos and I was hooked. Cuban linx, liquid swords, tical, etc are just amazing to me. I love Rza dark gritty production and his soul beats. And I love that all of them have their own styles and Rza adjusted to each of them and made it work. Which is why he's my favorite producer. To make an album like tical and adjust to odb crazy ass for return... Then adjust to liquid swords for the monotone lyricist, and make my favorite Cuban linx then ironman in a short period.. Is just dope. I even like their other albums such as the w, iron flag is underrated. Idk why that got hate from the ogs when that came out. I also like their not so popular albums such as lex diamond, legend of liquid swords, beneath the surface, tical 2000, no said date, the day after, wu massacre, etc... They just make great music to me. Them dudes can spit. And with my grandfather being a 5%er after he taught me the degrees. I just ended up understanding more of their lyrics and loving it more. I love lyricist and that's what they all are, yes even u ? . The disrespect for him is ? up. But I'm not as crazy as these white boys out here getting those wu tats on their face and ? . I'm not on that level. That ? is crazy

5th Letter- Favorite non Wu albums?
Built 4 cuban linx- All of nas and pac, biggies two, black moon enta the stage, mos def black on both sides, capital punishment, low end theory, rakim let the rhythm hit em, big daddy Kane long live the Kane, public enemy it takes a nation of million, ? , chronic, reasonable doubt, redman first three, the cool, ll cool j mama said knock you out, common Resurrection, below the heavens blu, onyx all we got is us, dmx it's dark and hell is hot
I'm sure there's alot I'm missing
5th Letter- Who's your favorite member and besides OB4CL what's your favorite group and solo album by them?
Built 4 cuban linx- other than 36 chambers and cuban linx. my favorite solo is either supreme clientele, fishscale or liquid swords. cant choose. My favorite group is Wu tang forever. That my favorite double album actually. we had a short back and forth awhile back when I said nothing could compare and you brought up All eyez on me and life after death and I just laughed it off lol I was just joking on that I love those 2 also but Wu tang forever is my favorite double album
recently inspectah deck has actually been the one that drops the best projects lately with those 3 Czarfaces albums. The 3rd one just came a few weeks ago. I didnt bother making the thread cause it wouldnt get the attention on here like my thread for the 2nd album didnt but if you like the Wu or lyrics in general. check those out. also shoutout to the classic blackout album with the great redman. that was so dope and blackout 2 is a sleeper as well. bought that the first day it dropped
5th Letter- What are your thoughts on today's hip hop?
Built 4 cuban linx- well Thank ? for the internet. cause I can keep up with my "nerd rap" lol..theres alot of great albums that dropped this and the past couple years. that new tribe called quest joint(? DOPE), dave east, krit, lupe, reks double album which is so amazing, joell, crooked I last 2 especially the one with statik selektah, ? jenkins is soooo talented. royce layers and rhyme with the Gawd premo and adrian young, run the jewels(thrid album coming soon btw), oddisee, skyzoo, pusha T, well you get the point im not going to name everything. Its alot of dope ? coming constantly.
My problem lies where, why cant some of these dudes be brought up and given that glory also? ? jenkins and krit for example are good enough for hot97 interviews TWICE but not to get they ? played? Hip hop has started with party music, so theres always room for that. hell me and my brother was bumping futures "wicked" yesterday on the way to wendys. futures tapes, chief keef, yes "I dont like" is my ? , rick ross, etc all get play from me so im not one of those "real hip hop" dudes. its all hip hop to me but hip hop has always had many sounds as it does now. so why cant we show our many sounds of our genre? why was the other elements taken out?
Nicki isnt the only female rapper. while she gets her plays as she should so shouldve jean grae and rapsody. that female category was so pathetic they were still nominating foxy brown at BET awards even when she was deaf and not making music no more. mainstream wise it just looks to damn one dimensional. call me a conspiracy theorist with a aluminum cap but I do think these majors are mainly promoting the ignorant side of our genre for some reason. hopefully adding cole and kendrick to the mainstream will help show the old white record label owner that they can still make they little culture vulture bucks off our "lyrical conscious" art also and put more of them out there too.
I am a hip hop nerd, I love this genre fully, it maybe silly but I care about the way its perceived. the radio is dying off but at the same time, what they playing is still having an impact. its still putting the hype behind artist. me being a underground guy, Ive heard kendrick years before he got famous tried to put people on. ? said he was trash so was overly dedicated and section 80 but swimming pools and GKMC come out he all over the radio now hes the greatest muthafucka to ever spit and ? . now those mixtapes that were trash turned classic overnight. Idk how but anyway thats just my view on it mainstream wise but like I said, thank ? for the internet where I can keep up with my favorite indies cause if I only had to depend on the artist they give us, I would be ? tired of hearing the same 5 ? artist all the damn time -
5th Letter- How did you discover the IC?
Built 4 cuban linx- I got my first personal laptop in 2009. I joined alot of forums back then horror movie forums, imdb and a tupac forum that I still moderate now. other topics are cool but when it came to current music. I got tired of talking todays hip hop with those guys over on that forum cause all they was saying was hip hop has sucked since tupac died. 7 day theory was the last great hip hop album and what the ? ever and I just need to talk todays hip hop with some people that are ACTUALLY fans not just white boys over in Europe that only like Tupac and Eminem and only got into tupac through eminem cause eminem produced loyal to the game.Holy ? that album sucked. So I typed in "hip hop forum" and this and SOHH(I think it was called) came up. I lurked both of yall for months maybe even a year and finally signed up here
5th Letter- What made you choose here?
Built 4 cuban linx- It was more active with not just music but movies and sports. I can talk about those 3 all day every day and the posters was ? hilarious but at the same time the serious topics in G&S held my attention. this forum talks more about the stuff im into. not to sound racist but Im guessing most of the people on here are black or spanish. Which is why its easier to have a convo with my own when we talk about our history,, our enertainment, music and where we are today with our accomplishemts and our issues with the police system, US govt and such and last but not least that ILLpix section is GOAT
5th Letter- How long have you been on the IC?
Built 4 cuban linx- I think I signed up in 2010 but didnt really start posting until 2012
5th Letter- What are your earliest memories of the IC?
Built 4 cuban linx- Like been mentioned in these interviews before, that shenco thread. I was one of the first people in that thread, heard his ? and didnt post just put down my phone went downstairs to cook. I honestly didnt think that thread wouldve turned out the way it did. I thought that ? would have gotten ignored but I come back to my phone and its five pages of straight ether. roasted lasted for days maybe even over a week. I dont know what he did before I got active here to yall but that was brutal lol...That meme of jesus on the cross saying "atleast Im not shenco"- Ill community 3:16 is still the best meme of all time
5th Letter- What's the craziest things you've seen since you've been on the IC?
Built 4 cuban linx- Sj2 or whatever his screename was being outted as a sick ? . he always came across as a know it all ? . That thread was funny cause of the roast but sad at the same time. im glad it was him. and also that rhyme scheme guy being exposed as a ? .
5th Letter- Who are your favorite and least favorite posters?
Built 4 cuban linx- Favorite- Busta, Backinwhite , you, Sr the freshman, stew, crookedletter and goldie is cool with posting new music
least- I dont really dislike anyone but that bck145 is the worst poster Ive ever seen, I sometimes question if dude actually likes any hip hop at all and Dwade206 been acting like a ? lately following me around for the past few weeks saying bunch of dumb ? , ? wrong with that ? ?
5th Letter- What are some things you'd like to change about the IC?
Built 4 cuban linx- Just wish we were quicker with the new music.... I also wish the essence would come back alive.
5th Letter- Word association 2 words or less

5th Letter- Any last words before we wrap up?
Built 4 cuban linx- Yeah thanks for the opportunity for the interview. Sorry I took long answering questions. In the past two weeks two of my boys got locked up. So I been busy with that. Damn, I thought @Built 4 cuban linx posted here longer than that. Dope poster, dope interview.
Us NYers like Linx are rare, in that most of us is either bitter ? that hate on the South and talk about the glory days, or little ? that follow waves and disregard the history that was made in their own backyard. Hip hop in NYC literally raised us, and there are a few of us that carry the tradition of holding down our borough and still show love to other cities regardless if we're there or not. -

Dope Interview
Goat for the Yelawolf drop, Trunk Muzik was dope AF. -
And Wu since 2000 have been the most consistent group, even if ppl feel like they haven't lived up to the standards of 36 Chambers and Forever. Supreme Clientele, OB4CL2, Blackout, Beneath the Surface, Digital Bullet, No Said Date, Fishscale, The Pillage, Sour Soul, and 12 Reasons are all clsssics imo, plus a lot of dope to near classic albums in between.
