He still ain't hit the potential he showed on those first few mixtapes though, imo

Cole needs a r&b singer on some of these songs
He can't sing
His hooks/chorus will always be his weakness as an artist imo. His hooks are really repetitive and his voice limits him as an artist. I don't mind when a rapper sings like Mos Def, Ceelo, etc if they're not tone def.
Cole would benefit alot if he sampled hooks and stop singing so damn much. -
Eh..typical Cole album. It's good tho..
-
Ville mentality an underrated favorite so far
I feel like she's mine pt2 and Neighbors are from Cole's perspective so it's not just his homie perspective throughout
Both of those are from the homies's perspective. Listen to em again. Neighbors is especially obvious. When has Cole ever talked about trappin?
She's Mine pt 2 is not so obvious, the only part from his own perspective is the last verse. -
Just had a crazy thought what if the album is from his dead homie perspective
-
@Nah Son you so ? ignant bruh :joy:

Damn man after hearing false prophets i was hype.
Then i found out thats not on the album. Hype started dying down.
Then yall saying its just an average album? Equal to or less than FHD? Hype dead.
Damn cole.

I think he should have labelled this a mixtape rather than an album.
I like it tho... -
After the Kanye and wale shots Cole tricked me i thought he had a classic cooking. He singing with the same mediocre production...
It's not the production, it's him. Cole is lyricist more than he is an entertainer, ala Nas. Nas beats don't make him, he makes his music just like Cole makes his. However u wanna take that....all facts.

Album is banging...

The album production is great, and it fits Cole perfectly. Add the fact that, it's a sound that's almost exclusively used by Cole.
I love this album. -

Bob Marley wasn't a vocalist neither... Cole got the job done, sometimes that's better than a perfect vocal. Music is about feeling, not perfection. -

Ppl who complain about the production, what type of sound did y'all want?? -
Immortal neughbors and folding clothes are dope. I gotta listen to the album again cuz i feel its ok

Immortal, 4 Your Eyez Only, Ville Mentality, Neighbors, Change... -

I like it tho...
Then why should it be labeled a mixtape then??? -

Cole kinda wrong for putting that song on the album in the first place knowing what it can bring and also it sounding like Tiller joint.
He's not the first artist to use a similar, or the same beat... it ain't like Cole resung the Song over, It's a totally different song. -
"? from the hood is the best actors
We the ones that got to wear our face backwards
Put your frown on before they think you soft
Never smile long or take your defense off
Acting tough so much we start to feel hard
Live from the city where they pull cards"
Ladies and gentlemen, the annual Cole shot at Hov
Even in his Prime Young Years, This description doesnt apply To Hov. Hov image was always the laid back, flashy, extrovert street ? . Jigga man was never super thug. -

Album got me wet

This Album was very Pac inspired. Alotta times the delivery, and track vibe was Tupac-esque.
