RD is overrated imo, BP, BA and AG are better Jay albums imo and I prefer 2 or 3 other albums like RLF, Vol ll & lll over RD also. But his status and legacy is solidified body of work, impact, influence etc. Future should question his own status he has a teenager bout to get him the ? outta here.

I need to hear what he said exactly, that video doesn't show it. But from what they're saying , Future said what everybody says and knows: RD wasn't deemed a masterpiece when it was first released and Jay-z didn't become the "king" until after Pac n Big were killed.

Even jay would agree -
? that, reasonable doubt is a classic
-
Resonable Doubt is the only Jay album that i give a ? about
Top 5 Rap album -
I bet unu didn't even watch the video
Blogs running with a nonstory -
http://news.hiphopearly.com/future-argues-jay-zs-reasonable-doubt-wasnt-hot-until-biggie-pac-died/
Future talking about when nas dropped his first album then mentions "If I ruled the world" calling it when i ruled the world, which wasn't even on illmatic. ? outta here Future Luther Queen. He don't even know what he talking about. -
? only listening to what mumble rappers say when they agree with what the mumble rapper is saying... Plus why do ppl act like hip hop stopped after biggie died and if you wasn't great at that time then you can never be great
-
I said the same ? on this board months ago..
It took that album years to go plat. Jay didn't really pick up steam til HKL.. -
Yall feelings dont matter Jigga warriors. Future stating facts. I dont even have to bring pac, east/west beef into equation. Fugees sold 22 million albums that summer and made a bigger impact than RD will ever dream about. Young ? that were in them streets were getting smoked out, faded and banging to E 1999 eternal. Foxy and Kim had instant sex appeal and brought back the interest to the female MC. Outkast sold 3 million without the hurrah. Wu Tang was popular as ? . Mr. Smith was still wild popular from Loungin remix and doing it. Then us southerners had the luxury of having an untapped state to state regional sound to fall back on. Cash Money, No Limit, Slip N Slide, Screwed Up Click etc. Back then you really had to have incredible personality or a gimmick to make the rap world stop and kiss your ass like how yall think hip hop did in 96 for Reasonable Doubt.
Yall need to stop taking it as an personal attack when ? talk about how RD didnt take off. new Ny rappers was dropping a generic mafioso album every month at that time. hell IWW came out around the same time. RD didnt stand out or distingish itself from the pack. If it wasnt for the sing songy aint no ? on the summer most popular movie sdtk RD would of completly went under the radar. Instead of taking it as an insult be happy Jay Z came so far from RD. He is a legend before our eyes. He said it himself he was bullshitting when he recorded it and it was supposed to be a one and done event. Obviously his rapping skills improved from that sloppy ass offbeat ? on RD to completely mastering different styles. His song writing skills improved and content within content improved. He raps about RD subjects now better than he did on RD. When you jigga warriors go so hard blindly for Reasonable Doubt you do a disservice to all his projects that he released afterwards. So yall mean to tell me that no other point in his career does he top that wack ass '96 flow? -

What teenager is that? Designer is on one hit wonder status right now. His mixtape died the same day it came out and Timmy Turner is a flop.
Reasonable Doubt is a classic though. -
Vol II was my first jay album and I didn't care for him until the black album

So because the album wasn't an instant "classic", that means it can't grow to be one?? Maybe it was a result of so much classic music at the time that it was overlooked. Maybe it's an album that has aged well. The fact that something wasn't recognized as great the time it came out is insignificant. It's a classic in the same way Van Goghs art became classic over time

Timmy turner just went gold -

This statement is such ? . Why ? act like Jay had been in the game 10 years, dropped 4/5 albums prior to Big and Pac dying and didn't make any noise until they died.
-
"Do yall ? listen to music or do yall just skim through it?"
The ? said the album is CURRENTLY a classic lol ? don't even try to look for facts, just read headlines and run with it. -
Jay didn't crossover to the average fan until way after Pac and Big died. That reasonable doubt ? was hot in the streets though, because there was no denying his pen game and that slick king pin ? he spit was a new perspective. In contrast, ? like Snoop, Nas and them had already made it to the league and were continuing their legacy, all while Pac and Big were using their own fake beef to get more headlines.
That's not to take away from Jay though, because I'm sure most would agree JayZ is (clearly) a better rapper than Pac and Big. -
but is Future qualified to make that assertion? l,ao shout out to Beans

Technically Jay was in the game before both Pac and Big, but I digress. Within the conversation they were having , there's nothing wrong with what he said. -
Jay wasn't big until pac died....I guess the same could be said about designer...he really blew up when he killed future
-
He's speaking the truth and saying the same ? all the logical minds have been saying on here for over a decade
-
Jay wasn't on top until Ma$e retired. Get it right
