Bruh... What tha ? !?
For those awaiting SZA’s album, there are four days left in 2016 for TDE to drop the project before year’s end.
But CEO Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith doesn’t seem too worried about making the deadline, as he said on Twitter yesterday (December 27) that the label dropped six albums this year — fans just didn’t know it.
Besides Kendrick Lamar’s untitled unmastered., ScHoolboy Q’s Blank Face LP, Isaiah Rashad’s The Sun’s Tirade and Ab-Soul’s DWTW, TDE also dropped newest signee Lance Skiiiwalker’s debut album, Introverted Intuition. And Top Dawg claims that the other new signee, known as John Doe #2 on his official white board, quietly dropped a project as well.
TDE John Doe 2
Reddit speculates that the newest signee is either Inglewood’s SiR, Bronx MC Kemba or Chicago’s Kembe X. SiR appeared on The Sun’s Tirade as well as Jay Rock’s 90059 album last year and he released his own EP, Her, this year. Reddit points out that Kendrick tweeted the project and SiR’s label, “iiinglewood SiR” has three “i”s just like Hiii Power.
Kemba dropped his Negus album this year and Reddit says he’s gotten support from Compton’s good kid.
Kembe X is managed by Top Dawg’s son Moosa and did release his Talk Back album this summer. Kendrick gave him a co-sign too by retweeting a link to his “Oxygen” song. Rumors swirled earlier this year that the Windy City rapper signed to TDE when he posted a photo of himself wearing a TDE chain. Top Dawg said the young gun was just a “friend of the family,” but was that just to keep us on our toes?
And revealing TDE’s newest soldier is not all that will happen in 2017. Top Dawg has promised even more music, which could come in the form of an album from Jay Rock, ScHoolboy Q’s promised 2017 release, and possibly the proper follow-up to KDot’s To ? a Butterfly. We’ve got our fingers crossed for that SZA LP too.

Lol, that's exactly the reason I made this thread. With all the recent chatter about how TDE's marketing department is trash, I was withholding my thoughts on the matter altogether... Until I saw this article. -

I love TDE's music, but this is sorry ass marketing/promotion. I'm not about to play "Where's Waldo?" to go buy an album, especially from an up and coming artist.
The only ones who can drop an album out the blue, without months, weeks or 2 days of promotion are Kendrick and Q ... maybe Jay Rock. I somewhat could understand if one of those three dropped and he Tweeted something at midnight like ... "Y'all like that new album?" and letting people search through iTunes on their own. -
this ? still being inept
-
Because of this thread I looked into kemba and kembe x. Both albums were good. Nice production, timely lyrics and content.

this legit cant be considered as dropping an album. ? outa here.

? would work if it was kendrick or an entire black hippy album and they dropped it under some alias. but someone we've never even heard of? what's the point? -

I downloaded that Kembe X album... ? is slappin!! I might have to find another copy though. The one I got has a few tracks' end has like ten seconds of the next track, then when the tracks finally shift the (new) song starts over. It's grating as ? >_> -
