There too many drake threads b. Y'all need tone that ? down.
Y'all need to tone it down. Most of the drake threads aren't even made by fans of his music, just some ? tryna throw shade. -
The obvious reason this is invalid is because he was also up for Album and Song of the year (with Rihanna) but just didnt win... Also up for best pop duo with Rihanna but didnt win....
Hotline Bling may not be a rap song, but it is definitely closer to what hip hop has become today (singing ass ? in a rap style) than to what Adele, Ariana Grande or Justin Beiber are coming up with.
Yeah maybe Hotline Bling should have been up for song of the year based on how popular it was in general, but it looks like the Grammy people just wanted to make sure he'd get an award so they put him where he had the best chance to do so...
Adele always cleans up, so would he have rather lost and not got anything or been the ringer in what the Grammy Association probably looks at as the urban "pop" category, real hip hop has never got love at the Grammy's and he knows that, he is just grandstanding... One of his rewards was for rap/sung which is exactly what he is/does.
This seems to be a non sequitur on his part and anyone here who is arguing for or against it. -
And additionally, unfortunately for him, his contribution to the rap game has changed it. So where he goes, in the public's eye, rap goes.
Unless he really takes a drastic leap in the type of music he creates, he will always be seen in the same light, a rapper with a lot of range. -

So if a comedian makes a drama, but even in the dramatic movie he tells a few jokes.....would you give him a comedic award?
Would Jim Carrey win a comedic award for his role in the Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind? -

If we Bring up Jamie Foxx and his Role in "Ray", That's a null and void Comparison -

He's crying he didn't win in a pop category... why? Because like I stated he came into the game as a HipHop artiste so the Grammys will only put him in that box...
And dude isn't even a talented singer at all; he actually raps better than he sings. This the cat y'all ride for? -

He's basically telling the Grammys to stop being so lazy when it comes to the nominations
Beyoncé had a country song on her last album. But they wouldn't dare put that in a country category
Taylor swift started out as a country artist, but she got noms in a few diff categories. -

It's not what you say it's how you say it. He could've conveyed those thoughts without coming off as if he's insulted that they'd put him in the rap categories. -
Listening to it he didn't come off as being insulted .

I get what he's trying to say and he's right but it doesn't change the fact that he sounded offended either. -
