NEW YORK (AP) — President Donald Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser, Jared Kushner, is in Iraq.
A senior administration official says Kushner is traveling in the Middle East with the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Joseph Dunford.
Other details about the trip are not being released. The official isn't authorized to speak about confidential meetings by name and demanded anonymity.
Kushner's West Wing portfolio is robust. He has been deeply involved with presidential staffing and has played the role of shadow diplomat, advising on relations with the Middle East, Canada and Mexico. Last week he launched a task force meant to modernize government using lessons drawn from the private sector.
Kushner is married to Trump's oldest daughter, Ivanka. -

Donald Trump was watching "Fox and Friends" on Monday morning, which he signaled by praising the show in a tweet.
"Fox and Friends" opened its Monday morning show with a segment on a new development on the intelligence report viewed by House Intelligence Committee Chair Devin Nunes (R-CA). The U.S. intelligence official who allegedly unmasked the names of President Donald Trump and his associates in the report was someone “very well known, very high up, very senior in the intelligence world,” but is not in the FBI, Fox News reported, citing an unnamed "source."

http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/blackwater-founder-repped-trump-secret-meeting-overseas-sources-n742266Reports: Blackwater Founder Repping Trump Met Secretly With Putin Confidant
Blackwater founder Erik Prince represented then President-elect Donald Trump in January during a secret meeting overseas with a Russian emissary close to Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Washington Post and NBC News reported on Monday.
Prince, whose sister Betsy DeVos is secretary of education in President Donald Trump's administration, met with a Russian close to Putin in the Seychelles Islands around Jan. 11, according to both reports. The Washington Post reported that Prince "presented himself as an unofficial envoy for Trump."
Per both reports, the United Arab Emirates arranged the meeting. The Washington Post cited unnamed U.S., European and Arab officials, and NBC News cited two unnamed intelligence sources familiar with the matter.
The Washington Post first reported:
Though the full agenda remains unclear, the UAE agreed to broker the meeting in part to explore whether Russia could be persuaded to curtail its relationship with Iran, including in Syria, a Trump administration objective that would be likely to require major concessions to Moscow on U.S. sanctions.
Though Prince had no formal role with the Trump campaign or transition team, he presented himself as an unofficial envoy for Trump to high-ranking Emiratis involved in setting up his meeting with the Putin confidant, according to the officials, who did not identify the Russian.
Prince was an avid supporter of Trump. After the Republican convention, he contributed $250,000 to Trump’s campaign, the national party and a pro-Trump super PAC led by GOP mega-donor Rebekah Mercer, records show. He has ties to people in Trump’s circle, including Stephen K. Bannon, now serving as the president’s chief strategist and senior counselor. Prince’s sister Betsy DeVos serves as education secretary in the Trump administration. And Prince was seen in the Trump transition offices in New York in December.
U.S. officials said the FBI has been scrutinizing the Seychelles meeting as part of a broader probe of Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. election and alleged contacts between associates of Putin and Trump. The FBI declined to comment.
The Seychelles encounter, which one official said spanned two days, adds to an expanding web of connections between Russia and Americans with ties to Trump — contacts that the White House has been reluctant to acknowledge or explain until they have been exposed by news organizations.

https://www.buzzfeed.com/alimwatkins/a-former-trump-adviser-met-with-a-russian-spy?utm_term=.kgybAmrYq#.xiPxPr9l5Report: Former Trump Adviser Met With And Passed Docs To Russian Spy In 2013
Carter Page, who advised President Donald Trump's campaign on foreign policy, met with and passed documents to a Russian intelligence operative in 2013, according to a report published Monday by BuzzFeed.
In 2013, at least three years before his association with Trump's campaign, Page met with a Russian intelligence operative named Victor Podobnyy in New York City, according to the report.
Page confirmed to BuzzFeed that he is the person identified as "Male-1" in a court filing by the U.S. government which contains a transcript of Podobnyy and a colleague, Igor Sporyshev, discussing the possible recruitment of "Male-1."
According to the filing, Page provided Podobnyy with documents "about the energy business."
Podobnyy and Sporyshev were charged in 2015 with aiding and abetting a colleague, Evgeny Buryakov, who was charged with acting as an unregistered agent of a foreign government. The three men were also charged with conspiracy.
Page last week denied doing anything "that could even be possibly viewed" as helping Russia influence the 2016 election in President Donald Trump's favor.
"I think it's about ? politics," he said.
In a letter to the House Intelligence Committee's chair and ranking member earlier in March, Page wrote that he would "eagerly welcome the chance to speak with the Committee" regarding its probe into Russian interference in the 2016 election.
Per BuzzFeed:
The court filing includes a colorful transcript of Podobnyy speaking with Sporyshev about trying to recruit Page.
“[Male-1] wrote that he is sorry, he went to Moscow and forgot to check his inbox, but he wants to meet when he gets back. I think he is an idiot and forgot who I am...He got hooked on Gazprom thinking that if they have a project, he could rise up,” Podobnyy said. “I also promised him a lot...this is intelligence method to cheat, how else to work with foreigners? You promise a favor for a favor. You get the documents from him and tell him to go ? himself.”
Page confirmed to BuzzFeed News on Monday that he is “Male-1” in the court filing, and said he had been in contact with Podobnyy, who was working at the time at Moscow’s UN office in New York City under diplomatic cover, although he was really an SVR agent. Pressed on details of his contact with Podobnyy, Page said their interactions did not include anything sensitive. -
