One thing about California music is:
    1. Your delivery gotta be on point
    2. You gotta be saying something ppl relate to
    3. The beat gotta be hard hitting

If you got all three of the above, ? gon bump your ? .

I ? wit a couple tracks off Damn but a lot of them other songs get boring, I lose interest, and it amounts to a ? saying a bunch of stuff over a beat in the background. Even if he is saying some deep or slick ? , after i hear it once, I go back to the music I feel tho....

Schoolboy Qs delivery > Kendricks lyricism. Sorry IC ;(

@leftcoastkev does Big Sean get major play in LA? More than Kendrick?

I frequent LA but I'm in the Bay.

I can't call day to day functions of LA but I can generalize California in regards to what ppl are most likely to listen to.

In the Bay, Big Sean songs be on the radio more than Kendrick.

Yeah, that sounds like a lot of people in Kansas City. I remember back in high school (graduated in 1999), the majority of people listened to mostly West Coast and Down South music - mostly for the beats and delivery. There were a small group of people who listened to lyrical East Coast rappers, but they did not get played a lot at parties unless it was something like Ruff Ryders.

But as I got older in college, I started to appreciate lyrics just as much as beats and delivery.

I'll take Kendrick's lyrics over Q's delivery though. But "Blank Face" was the best albums of 2016 to me. "Tookie Knows 2" is probably one of the most played songs on my iPod.

    How you rate,

    Beats 9.0
    Lyrics 9.5
    Cohesion 9.25

And the album get an 8.5?

With all that how's replay value 7.0?

Simple. The album is put together well....doesn't mean I wanna listen to all that crybaby/voguish ass singing and depression more than twice. When damn near 1/4 of the album is skip able (Yah, Love, Loyalty), that brings down the replay value of an album.

Listening to ? again, this lil ? is feelin himself. That track is FUNNY.

I just hope he don't go all BlondYe on us in a year.

I said the same thing. Eventually the money ends up catchin up to a lot of our more popular rappers at some point and thats fine, it is what it is.

That's why I was disappointed he ain't have no "hood" track on here ? can throw gang signs up to. That's like mandatory for every LA artist lol that's where @BOSSExcellence is correct when he said Schoolboy Q and Jay Rock get more play out here than kdot

I'll start off by saying I like the album but

This album is a step back Imo. With his previous joints he separated himself from his peers but not on this one.

It kinda feels like he made an album that would be mainstream, which I can't knock him for, but I just don't ? with it like the other ones.

It sounds like he was listening to a lot of Drake while making this album too.

    Duckworth is classic Kendrick tho

I agree with songs like "Love" and "Loyalty" feat Rihanna it can fit into today's radio playlist.

Anybody that likes "Love" better not be a Drake hater lol its the same damn kinda music he makes.
