That damn fine coffee is going to need a little more time to brew.
Showtime’s forthcoming Twin Peaks revival won’t premiere until 2017, CBS Corp. CEO Les Moonves officially confirmed during an earnings call Tuesday (per Variety).
Showtime president David Nevins previously said he hoped the continuation would bow in 2016. But the combination of that (since resolved) David Lynch contract stalemate and subsequent episode-order expansion made a 2017 debut much more likely. (Twin Peaks co-creator Mark Frost hinted at the revised timeline over the summer.)
Lynch and Frost have penned all episodes of the present-day revival — which is rumored to total more than a dozen episodes — with Lynch directing every installment. Filming is currently underway in Washington state.

Lynch Probably Got Writers Block

Love the original series
So weird and freaky yet so good
The way that midget did that creepy dance used to wig me out
Looking forward to this one too -
Was absolutely enthralled by the new episodes. I felt it did a better job of recapturing the mood of Lost Highway with a touch of Muholland Dr., with the long drawn out scenes and dread looming over every corner ominously, than it did the OG version which had alot of soapy drama mixed in.
It was dope seeing Laura visiting Cooper in the Red room again. And it was about 25 years later just like she said. I wonder if we'll ever find out what she whispered in his ear? But knowing how the show's creator operates, my guess is probably not
And it was surreal seeing the evolution of Mike's arm turn out to be a branch with matter in the shape of a brain on top of it.
I like how Lynch and Frost spread the action around to multiple locations. I believe the black lodge is how all of the loosely connected stories will end up intersecting. Thats just my guess
? I'm already fiening for the next episodes. A Lynch production is like a drug. It'll take your mind on a journy and leave you wanting more

Bruh season 2 was over 25 yrs ago. At least get that right. Anyway I'm on episode 3 now. Still waiting on my main dude Major Briggs to show up.
-
Dale Cooper is one of the greatest characters ever though. Seeing him in The Black Lodge with MIKE made me misty eyed with nostalgia. Now I read the cast list for season 3. So Major Briggs won't be involved. That sucks.
I thought Frost and Lynch would resolve every dangling plot thread left over with the original run. Maybe the inclusion of Bobby and the Major's wife brings some answers. I hope. -
Seeing Lucy and Andy's absent minded ? was like seeing old friends. Same with Deputy Hawk. Can't wait to see Albert's buzz killing self too and his reaction to being brought back into the world of this hick ridden town lol.
Chief Cole too with his hearing impared ass especially since Lynch has grown weirder over the years. Want to see what extra quirks he adds to his own performance on the seriesm
Also who's the 2nd Truman? A brother? I know the actor that played Harry retired and I don't see Lynch disrespecting with a recast. But Harry was the 2nd star of the show. You need his presence somehow especially if it involves finding his buddy Agent Cooper. -
Episode 3 is such a trip. That opening.

whats this show about

whats this show about
To tell you the truth is too deep to get into.
It simply starts with an FBI agent coming to a small town to investigate a murder. Then it escalates from there into drugs, prostitution, melodrama and the occult. It's a very character driven show though. The narrative is just the connecting thread. -
So Don S. Davis died (don't know how I forgot that) so no Major Briggs but Bobby lets us know that he passed away in episode 4.

? , I wish I bothered getting round to the second season. 5 minutes in and I'm already confused.

so many shows, so little time lol
Jus downloaded the 1st 4 eps of season 3. will watch later -

Seeing The Little Girl From The Nanny Get Ass Naked Gave Me A Weird ? ...Great First 2 Eps....This ? Picked-Up Right Where The Film Left Off...With Even Better Production Values..Theres A Feeling Of Mystery And Absolute Terror That Only Lynch Can Create...Good ?
Having Problems Logging In To My DirecTv So I Haven't Been Able To Watch 3 And 4...Ill Just Wait Til I Get Back From Portland Over The Long Weekend -
Episode 4 feels exactly like classic Twin Peaks. Like the show never left. Great balance between surreality and humor like the series' best episodes.
From Gordon and Albert in the car to Andy and Lucy's son and Cooper at the slot machines this episode completely slayed me. Classic Twin Peaks quirky humor.
“Heeeeeeelllooooooooo!!!”
The breakfast table scene was hilarious too. Something kinda sad about seeing one of the most competent feds in TV history, essentially the American Sherlock Holmes; being reduced to a mindless child for now. But those scenes added some much needed levity and brought back the spirit of Twin Peaks pretty unapologetically.
That scene with Bobby in the sherriff's office when Laura Palmer's theme finally hits. Powerful. -
episode 3 def. give me an Eraserhead-type feeling in regards to the surrealism. the casino bit was hilarious. i wonder if dougie was conceived by the Bad Cooper in order to prevent from being sucked into the black lodge. because he's still out in he real world where dougie is there instead of him. also did the Good Cooper sipping the coffee, the one drink he so adamantly loved, bring his mental state back to what it used to be?
Yea episode 4 def. had the OG Twin Peak's quirky mood. it was dope seeing Bobby as a sheriff now. also when he broke down seeing Laura's picture while Laura's theme was playing definitely seemed an homage to the original as well. lol @ Michael Cera's Marlon Brando impersonation -
Never watched a single episode. Can anyone describe this show?

Its quite multi-layered and byzantine for me to describe in a few sentences or even a paragraph like broddie stated earlier. but if i somehow could simplify the narrative, its about an agent by the name of Dale Cooper sent into the fictional town of Twin Peaks in the state of Washington to investigate a murder of a high school girl by the name of Laura Palmer who was admired by many in the town. i believe one of the reasons why it gained such a cult following is it had eccentric characters thrown in the mix and paranormal events would occur at different periods. it was quite unlike anything on tv at the time of its original airing.
If your interested, i would say to check out seasons 1, 2, then the movie Fire Walk With Me in that order. but if you dont want to invest that amount of time into the series and just want a summation of everything that happened up until the new season i would recommend checking out this video from ign. they do a good job of giving you a condensed version of all the events that occurred over the series

Why is this a sticky?
Would rather see F is for Family or The Carmichael Show stickied before this. -
Yeah this shouldn't be a sticky. This forum isn't worthy of this show tbh.

I liked how Sherrif Truman didn't do what he expected (walk away after saying Thank You) and he had to scramble around in his mind for more Brando movie references to ? the awkwardness lmao.

The sound design in this season phenomenal. Really has inspired me to pursue sound design as a hobby. Lynch's genius is unparralleled.

It's getting real. Coop getting closer and closer to getting it all back.

"I'M GONNA LAUGH WHEN I ? YOU ? !!!" that guy has to be a black lodge spirit.
