November and it will be more of a debate between them than an all out brawl.

Doomsday Clock has absolutely nothing to do with the movies and DC unlike Marvel does NOT believe in synergy across all mediums so I highly doubt this.

The Watchmen movie was a moderate hit at best and if DC truly wanted something to trump IW all they have to do is a Crisis movie crossing over DCEU with Arrowverse and Michael Keaton and Christian Bale etc.

    I hope not.

Before Watchmen was awful overall despite some highlights and so uneccessary. Watchmen only works as a stand alone story.

I dont see how Justice league could stand a chance against them just with having Manhattan in the Watchmen corner. If he chooses to get involved in a conflict that is. Interested to find out why he involved himself in their universe though, hopefully Johns does a good job.

There are beings that are far more powerful than Dr. Manhattan who are either allies or members of the JL (Captain Atom, The muthafucking Spectre, Doctor Fate etc.) so I don't see how it's a problem. Hell The Flash himself is arguably powerful enough. People need to stop confusing Doc Manhattan being the only meta on his world with him being the most powerful meta. He really is not.

I figured it be more of a philosophical debate because Superman can't go toe to toe with him like that. You saw what he did to Zoom? Gotdamn :#

Justice League Dark And Batgirl Likely Next DC Movies To Go Into Production

A clearer picture of the future of the DC Extended Universe may be forming.

A report suggests that the next DCEU films slated to enter production are the Justice League Dark movie and the Batgirl movie, neither of which have official titles as of yet.

he new was couched in a Hollywood Reporter report on how Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins has not yet signed on for the hit film’s sequel.

News of a Justice League Dark movie first broke in 2013, when Guillermo del Toro confirmed that he was working on the adaptation. The film’s working title was Dark Universe, but that branding may change now that Universal Pictures has launched its Universal Monsters shared universe under the same title.

According to del Toro, the film will feature DC Comics characters Dr. Alec Holland / Swamp Thing, John Constantine / Hellblazer, Jason Blood / Etrigan The Demon, Jim Corrigan / The Spectre, Nimue Inwudu / Madame Xanadu, Boston Brand / Deadman, and Zatanna Zatara. Rather than an origin story, the film was said to find the team already assembled and reveal portions of the backstory as it progressed.

Del Toro submitted a script for the movie but later left the project. Doug Liman was attached to direct but has since dropped out due to scheduling conflicts.

A Justice League Dark direct-to-home release animated feature, starring a similar team roster plus Batman, was released in February 2017.

The Batgirl movie was announced in March 2017 with Avengers director Joss Whedon writing, directing, and producing. The film will center on Barbara Gordon and is said to be inspired by Gail Simone’s New 52 Batgirl comic book.

Batgirl was played in live-action by Yvonne Craig in the Batman classic television series and by Alicia Silverstone in Batman & Robin. She was given an extended story in the 2016 Batman: The Killing Joke animated feature.

With Wonder Woman now in theaters, the next film on the DC Extended Universe slate is Justice League, which is currently in post-production and will release in November.

Aquaman is currently filming for a 2018 release. The Flash is in pre-production but has struggled to keep a director on board, having lost two already. Shazam is in the planning for 2019, as are Cyborg and Green Lantern Corps for 2020.

A still-untitled sequel to Justice League is also being planned, as are a sequel to Man of Steel and Suicide Squad, along with The Batman, the first solo Batman movie in the DCEU. A solo feature for Shazam villain Black Adam, played by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, is also in planning.

The Batman family's role in the DCEU will expand with, in addition to Whedon's Batgirl movie, the planned Nightwing movie, and Gotham City Sirens, a Suicide Squad spinoff that will team Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn up with some of Gotham's other female villains, most-likely Poison Ivy and Catwoman.

They need to let this justice league dark ? go.

I don't wanna see that ? until I get flash, aquaman, green lantern, hawkgirl/thanagarian, Martian manhunter, and Batman films. That Dark ? can come way after like how Marvel waited a while to do Guardians of the galaxy.

Chris pine a smart guy as well, there's no doubt he could have gotten a bigger role elsewhere in any of these universes going on, took the one and out deal rather than sign a good portion of his career away having to be involved.

It makes more sense out of Wonder Woman's sympathetic reaction to Lois in BvS. History repeated itself in her eyes.

Latest Justice League Casting News Reveals Big Piece of DCEU History

Wonder Woman is conquering the box office right now, bringing a much-needed surge in buzz around DC Films and the DC Extended Universe. The DCEU is scored its first big win of 2017 with Wonder Woman, but the real test will come this fall when Justice League attempts to bring the entire DCEU superhero lineup together for a massive event film.

When breaking down the Justice League movie trailers that have been released, we (like many other fans) noticed a particular scene that stood out from the rest. That scene was of a massive battle taking place on a fiery and desolate patch of land, with The Amazons of Themyscira battling the alien army of Apokolips. It was impossible to tell for sure where the scene fit into the storyline of Justice League - but thanks to the latest casting confirmation for the film, we can now say for sure what Justice League's big Amazon battle sequence is, and where it fits into the story.

Read on only if you want to know, as these could be considered MILD SPOILERS!

    justice-league-amazons-vs-parademons-989947.jpg

In DC Comics lore, theology gets a more fantastical spin. Our own Russ Burlingame has already broken it down in detail (see below), so we'll just go over the general gist of it, and how it applies to the DCEU.

Basically, there was a world of gods that was destroyed, letting loose a wave of energy that seeded every world it touched with gods of their own. One of the worlds was Earth, which saw the rise of Greek gods like Zeus, Poseidon, and Ares. Meanwhile, the descendants of the original "? World" evolved into two camps of "New Gods," inhabiting the warring worlds of New Genesis (the good guys) and Apokolips (the bad guys).

In Justice League, the team will battle Steppenwolf, a general who serves under the ruler of Apokolips, Darkseid. However, in comic book iconJack Kirby's New Gods #1 in the '70s it was shown that the Old Gods had gone to war against the "New Gods" looking to replace them - and the battle scene in Justice League is now all but confirmed to be related to that storyline.

How it Applies to Justice League

Wonder Woman stars Connie Nielsen (Queen Hippolyta) and Robin Wright (Antiope) recently confirmed that they are both going to be appearing in Justice League, with Nielsen offering the following tease: "[Wright and I] got to do more in Justice League as well. As sisters as well. Kind of badass as well. We can’t say much, but …"

That quote says a great deal more than intended. Since (SPOILER!) Robin Wright's General Antiope dies early on in Wonder Woman, it's clear that the scene with her and Hippolyta being "badass" in Justice League must be a scene that takes place in the past. That's further confirmed by the Wright also adding in the interview that Justice League will show more history of the Amazons.

As stated, the battle sequence depicted in Justice League invokes a lot of the Jack Kirby lore in DC Comics, and seems to be a reworked version of the historical battle between forces of the Old Gods (Zeus' creation, The Amazons) and the New Gods (Darkseid's forces from Apokolips). We know from Wonder Woman producer Charles Roven that in this DCEU version of history, The Old Gods decided to hide important tools/weapons of the New Gods called Mother Boxes (more on them below) on Earth. As Roven explained in a previous interview:

    justice-league-movie-mother-boxes-993838.jpg

"Back before history, mankind, the Atlanteans before they were underwater, the Amazonians (sic), and actually the Old Gods, teamed together and decided that, based on an event that happened, these Mother Boxes were going to be placed in the care of as I said, the Amazonians (sic), mankind, and the Atlanteans,"

That "event that happened" is clearly the New Gods of Apokolips invading ancient Earth for some nefarious purpose - only to be battled back by the forces of man, Atlantis, and (of course) the heroic sisters Hippolyta, Antiope, and their Amazon warriors.

Besides tying into Wonder Woman's DCEU history, this battle of the gods on Earth could also be the possible reason for Atlantis sinking into the ocean - but that's just speculation.

What we do know for sure is that Justice League will have a massively important battle sequence - one that establishes a lot more DCEU lore, and will possibly lead to the introduction of the benevolent New Gods of New Genesis, such as Highfather and Orion.

To be fair, if The Batman was released before Wonder Woman, it would have done crazy numbers. No comic hero is more popular than Batman.
