FLINT, MI -- Social media has been abuzz about comments comedian Steve Harvey made about the Flint Water crisis on his morning radio talk show after the Cleveland Cavaliers lost in game five of the NBA Finals to the Golden State Warriors.
Harvey, who is a Cleveland fan and once lived in Ohio, took a call from a man who said he was from Flint, who told Harvey that Cleveland didn't 'deserve jack.'
Harvey apparently made reference to the man's lack of having clean water to shower in due to the Flint crisis, according to many Facebook posts.
A user on Facebook recorded the aftermath of the conversation. In the video the words Steve Harvey could be seen on the vehicle's radio screen.
Harvey's co-hosts could be heard telling him that he should apologize.
"I wasn't talking about the city of Flint," Harvey told his co-hosts, "I was talking about him."
Harvey continued on to say, "He gone call in and say Cleveland don't deserve jack and he over their bathing in all that silver water."
The caller was still on the line at this point and told Harvey he was Dee from Flinttown.
Before taking the next caller Harvey told the caller there was "one more thing."
"Go ahead," the caller said.
"Enjoy your nice brown glass of water," Harvey said.
Amariyanna "Mari" Copeny, known as "Little Miss Flint," who's letter brought President Barack Obama to visit Flint in 2016, appeared on Harvey's television show last year on June 13.
Fifth Ward Flint City Councilman Wantwaz Davis, said the comments from Harvey did not surprise him.
Davis, along with other Flint officials and residents, appeared on Harvey's afternoon television talk show about the water crisis in an episode that aired on FOX 66 in March 2016.

"I cautioned people after the Steve Harvey show not to take this person serious," Davis said. "He's an opportunist. He's all for show."
Davis said he felt like Harvey made a joke out of the situation then by telling people to pack up and leave.
"That was beyond reality," Davis said. "How could Harvey tell these poverty-stricken people with no hope and no job to just pack up and leave?"
Davis, however, said he was not surprised by Harvey's latest comments.
"It made me extremely disappointed and upset, but I was nowhere near fooled by who this man is," Davis said.
Harvey's show airs on KISS 107.1 FM from 6-10 a.m., Monday through Saturday.
Officials at the station said they have not received any calls about Harvey's comments, however, one employee did mention seeing backlash on Facebook.
Harvey or a spokesperson could not be reached for comment.

I get it. Sports is serious business. Anything will be said to cut deep, especially if someone comes incorrect at your team/player.
-
I laughed.

I wonder if this comment was made by Rush Limbaugh how people would react. Would it still be funny? He in his feelings over a basketball game so its cool to make jokes about folks trapped in a situation they didn't create nor can they do anything about. Over a basketball game.

Not human rights violations. Not ? that will effect people for generations and certainly not over a damn basketball game. -
He better not apologize
DL Hughley just said when Kathy Griffin apologized for Trump that "Everytime a comic apologizes for a joke a comedian loses his ? ." -
Distasteful but funny
Funny but distasteful -
Comedians have been cracking jokes about murder, ? , racism, mental illness, domestic violence, religion, hypertension, diabetes, even slavery for ages.
I mean I guess I could get outraged about this, but considering all the Chappelle, Rock, C.Holcomb, Patrice Oneal, and Burr I've laughed to over the years, my outrage would ultimately be fake.

have you found all jokes on those topics funny?
my favorite comedians have uttered some jokes i've found unfunny and tasteless. i won't crucify them. we've given comedians permission to say whatever. but people should be able to react however to said joke as well -
@Already Home_17 Of course I haven't. But it was always because the joke itself(or execution) wasnt funny. Not because I felt the topic was off limits. And people definitely can feel how they want to feel, I agree.

? were mad about a Bill Maher joke just last week. 200 pg thread about him being a racist and all that ? because he called himself a ? ...
This week folks drinking contaminated water is a joke and it's a lot of ha-has its what comedians do -

Word because I am not apologizing for ? FOH with your feelings
I never understood apologies anyways. I still feel the same way, so am I supposed to apologize the day after to appease some sensitive people?
The apology is never genuine anyways.
