That's what I was thinking when I heard who was producing what.
Only heard the first two tracks so far, but what the heck is Bon Iver doing on a Garage track, and where is he on it? -

That's been my biggest critique of Vince for a while now. The production never really meshed well with his raps. The only time he's gotten it right is on Shine Cold Chain and Stolen Youth(his best project imo) -

I swear he smashing Kilo Kish
-
won't say it's an amazing album it's just good like it more on the second listen
-
i like this young boy..
gonna have to check cuhz out.. -
Awful. Just...Ah man very disappointin'. I like garage too but Vince sounded like he mailed in all his verses. I don't mind eclectic beats likes say a Danny Brown but this ? was waaaaay too pink

Something doesn't sit right with him on these tracks. Atrocity Exhibition showed that Danny Brown would have eaten these beats alive, even Kendrick burst through five different flows on one single verse and smashed it. Vince Staples just sounds like he couldn't be bothered.
I least I now know what a SOPHIE produced Hip Hop track sounds like. I rate SOPHIE highly so I'm glad to hear what he's come up with. -
Not feeling this one so far but ill give it a few more spins off the strength of the rest of his catalogue. Sounds like hes trying into a new audience that is more club or pop than hiphop. Disappointing to me but i wish him success.

For those not up on Vince, this is what he's supposed to sound like

I didn't like his singles for this because it seems like he's experimenting or trying to expand his sound which is cool dont let them box you in..
But this ain't for me dawg
