PLUS IS SAMPLES A JAY Z LINE THAT SAMPLES A BIGGIE LINE...
? AIN'T RIGHT
Thats what I always wondered. I think I even made a thread about it a few years back.
The line is, "Bring em out bring em out/ its hard to yell when the barrells in your mouth"
That line is actually from a song called Keep Your Hands High by Tracey Lee feat Notorious B.I.G.
Keep Your Hands High - Tracey Lee feat Notorious B.I.G. He says the line @ 1:19
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=seTxekDIC1Q
My question is; If T.I. got the line from a Jay Z record, and Jay Z got the line from a Tracey Lee record featuring Biggie, does Tracey Lee get paid if somebody downloads T.I.'s song?
Big used it 1st jay resaid it like usual
So does Tracy Lee get paid from T.I.'s record?
U cant be serious right now. How would tracy lee get paid if biggie the one that said it
He would get a writing credit (for the record Big didn't get one.)
The song sampled a JAY-Z record. So Jay-Z gets the credit legally. He did bite a Big verse however and apparently Big didn't get a writer's credit for that.
The difference is Jay was biting while T.I.P. sampled.

Because it's Tracey Lee's record. The song is on Tracey Lee's album.

Because that's how sampling works. All writers from a sampled work are supposed to be credited and thus paid. -
Never really cared for this song

? IS WACK...

Further proof that Jay-Z is the most overrated, least creative, bitenest and most ? ridden mc ever -
Song is stil dope to me
-
"Facts b..." -
Always thought it was ass
-
Never liked this joint...
-
You made it a hot line I made it a hot song
-
Still listen but only when playing the album
-
I only used to let the video play on TV back then to hear "U Don't Know Me" at the end until I finally got a cd burned.

The song been wack. Tip came wack and ? wanna blame it on Swizz. ? outta here! The hook is the only memorable thing about that ?

Tip actually kinda snapped on that ? , but the beat was ao ? annoying.
It was only a hit because of that Sample...and the "hip pop" appeal to it -
THAT BEAT DOES SOUND LIKE SOME HAPPY BIRTHDAY ? .

Exactly -
I think both Tip and Swizz brought their B- game for this ? .
-
All the other singles from Urban Legend made this track more receptive, it was gonna pop on club night tho. Tip had ? flowing in every direction at this point.
-
Never really liked this song, but his first single, "Rubberband Man" still goes hard in my opinion.
-
Always hated this. Was disappointed with this being the first single after Trap Muzik
-
Tip came with it as far as rapping and rhyming. Swizzy and his ole "throw that tambourine sound in there, I bet that sounds good" ass messed it all up. That beat is gahbage and I've never really been a fan of dudes production
-
Club classic.
