“In my world, I get so tired of people complaining about, ‘Oh black lives matter,’ and they pontificate and pontificate about it, and I say, ‘Well, what are you doing about that? It may not seem significant to you, but that’s how we start. Have you called your local politicians, have you written a letter?’
“When they say they’ve done nothing, I say, ‘Well, don’t talk to me … because you are part of the problem, because you are sitting here spewing negativity and complaining. I don’t have time for people who talk the talk but don’t walk the walk.”
Naturally, that begs the question, what is Halle doing? But since last year, the actress has been urging citizens to get involved in their local government. In the wake of Philando Castille and Alton Sterling’s deaths she vowed to take action and encouraged others to do so as well with this post on Instagram, writing:
“I promise to find ways to get involved and help. Please do the same. You can start by reaching out to your local politicians, legislators & government officials NOW. Let us be heard. ? bless all the victims and families of these senseless CRIMES.”

making mixed lives???
Did you forget her momma's white??? -
What she said actually makes sense. It is addressed accurately at the right audience with no mention of "black on black crime" and is encouraging people to do more than just repeat a hash tag slogan. There are a lot of people who just post #blacklivesmatter on twitter and leave it at that. Hallie catches a lot of flack but she actually gave sound advice on getting your voice heard. Those others who talk about "black on black" crime never address the issues at hand or even give possible solutions to prevent it.

I just want to ? forget everything else
-
no it aint -
She has a point. Tired of mfers who only post memes on FB
-
? that ? . Has she ever protested ? Has she ever filed a complaint against a cop ?
Who the ? is she to say if you didn't write a ? "letter" to a politician, you haven't done anything ?
And I can only imagine what she considers "spewing negativity". -
Never trust anybody that says "pontificate."
-
What's the common theme between her and Stevie ?
The classic compliment sandwich, can't say anything good about Black Lives Matter without simultaneously saying something negative.
Why you think these the people that they get to speak on it. -

Nah I think she's talkin' rubbish. I don't like use words like 'complain' and 'negative' when describin' people who are talkin' about race.
Also, talkin' about it is doin' something. Not everyone has the means or ability to illicit change. Why wouldn't she advise the person or try to talk them into action instead of tellin' them not to talk to her. -
what did she say that was wrong?
she it pretty much talking about psuedo social media activism.
She is right.
