LYRICALLY yes hell yes but to say that outright so early is bs -
I peeped the shot at Jimmy Iovine...
And no braggadocious bars about material things he owns compared to his last couple albums.. not too much anyway
Yeah. I like this Jigga on wax -

Best Jay album since AG
Yea. People saying best album since black album but I think they're sleeping on American gangster
AG is good....this is more potent imo....more replay value
I can't speak for others but I play AG a LOT.
I agree with you about preferring this content but as a piece of art AG is very cohesive and is a little more layered than this one. I have them neck and neck so far

What's incredible about No I.D. is how relevant he's stayed.
Think about No I.D.'s longevity in the game and his contemporaries. Primo is undeniably a GOAT, maybe even the GOAT, but he hasn't changed his sound much over the years, which is fine. That's his lane. His sound is vintage and one of a kind. But the result is that a lot of these old school producers become more underground as new sounds emerge, even if they can still produce popular songs every now and then.
No. ID somehow managed to adapt to each new wave in hip-hop production, absorbing innovations and developments at the most cutting edge of hip-hop sound and technology, but without turning out mere derivative and formulaic trap beats. He's found a way to incorporate new sounds within his own classic, soul-sample heavy aesthetic, while still pushing the boundaries of that sound.
Whether it's by bringing newer ideas to bear on a classic NY boombap sound on Nas' album, or the way he's chopping up his signature soul samples on Common's album and this album, or exploring entirely new post-trap sonic soundscapes as he does on the Vince Staple's album and on Jhene Aiko's ? , it's all very high quality work. ? is phenomenal. He's perhaps the most versatile, open minded producer of all time.
And there's no excuse for Jay Elect not making an album right ? now, because No I.D. is the next best thing to J.Dilla and he's practically in-house.

I also came to this thread to cringe at the displays of Jigga Warriors fuckery.
