I worked for a defense contractor for 7 years. I'd still be there if they didn't start layoffs. The DoD is where the government spends the bulk of it's money. The military has a shitload of money for all manner of ? . The military will spend millions of dollars on projects they swear they want then, without warning or reason, change their mind and will abandon it. Money down the toilet bu they can do that 'cause they have so much of it. I've been on projects where we actually got ? built, had functional prototypes up and running, showed the ? off to brass and PMW146 and they were excited to see it working only to have 'em call us up like"we want to do something else. Document everything, pack it all up and stick it in storage". Millions of dollars in man hours down the tubes 'cause they want something shinier and newer.

I don't see how what you just typed doesn't prove my point. Which is to say that this isn't really a money issue.
And I stand by the statement that troops are under-compensated. This is evidenced by 1/3 of America's homeless being veterans. -

Fam... The guy that wrote the article has 40 years under his belt in trans-studies as it pertains to mental health. He's an acknowledged scholar in the field. He's the former head of psychiatry at Johns Hopkins, the hospital that pioneered sex reassignment surgery back in the 60's only to stop doing them in the 70's because they did not produce the desired results. The article I linked has case study material as reference that says that we're going about this all wrong.
He's got over 200 peer reviewed papers under his belt and has a career longer than you've likely been alive. IF there's anyone I'm going to listen to it's an acknowledged expert in the field, not some ? with baseless arguments on the internet.

He retired in 2011. He started on hormones in 2013. The hormones do have mental side effects.

I got a shitton of family currently in the military and those that have left the military. Ain't none of 'em hurtin for cash. Some of my best customers back inna day were military cats whether I was selling car audio, studio equipment, or just general electronics. -

My guy... If there were more effective services (a form of compensation) for veterans the result of military related trauma and stress disorders would almost certainly not be the issue that it is.
There is only 2700 registered trans people in the military (edit: I keep seeing the number 15,000) we really going to act like money is the issue here? 600 billion a year on all types of ? , but trans peoples' healthcare needs are too much?
Simple and plain, this is a way to dehumanize trans people.
I'm not saying that you're doing this, but it's telling when everyday people become allies of the state to oppose other oppressed groups.
This is just the beginning of ? coming down the pipe line from this regime and who is to say that your dignity and right to exist isn't next on the agenda? -
I try to look at all things as objectively as I can, so my 2 cents doesn't have much to do with my feelings on Trump or trannies.
So my first question is, is the ban constitutional? I don't know the answer, but the answer seems to be no. Therefore, I don't support the decision.
Besides that, a million other relevant questions could be asked, so it's a complicated issue, imo. Of course, at the end of the day, we (or most of us) just want our military to be competent, regardless.
Oh, and this whole issue is going to be ridiculously blown out of proportion. We continue to live in the twilight zone... -

MtF trans lose their combat effectiveness. Beck was a DEVGRU operator(Navy). Alana McLaughlin/Ryan was a Special Forces operator(Army). They would not be able to do what they did now, physically, since undergoing HRT and gender reassignment surgery.
Now FtM trans would be more combat effective than would otherwise. Look at the effect taking male hormones had on Cris Cyborg. -

Its getting more complicated. I have served in the army. I got some ? AND LESBIANS brothers and sisters in arm. Highly professional, SANE. The ? dude was masculine all day till his ' man ' comes picking him up. Same for the ? . She didnt acted masculine, she was here to serve as a FEMALE SOLDIER.
Now you got men and women WHO SEE THEMSELVES DIFFERENTLY FROM WHO THEY REALLY ARE BIOLOGICALLY and forcing us to believe in their DELIRIUM to the point that we have to let them go to whatever ? room and taking tax payers money to change their body.
