Yes and no. Black people can be racist towards other marginalized groups, but not racist towards white people, which is where racism originates.

Majority black still ran by whites lol....so even when we outnumber them and have more power, we don't use it to oppress the minority ....we actually give the minority power....

It's not in us to oppress something in OUR environment as a collective...sure there are rogues...but we ain't on it like that

Racism didn't originate nor is it unique to black and white people.

it really depends on your definition of racism and if you think it is an individual thing or system thing black people can be racist on an individual level but we do not have the power to be racist on a systematic level. on an individual level I am a super duper racist and proud of it.

Yes, white racism is Proactive. Black "racism" is Reactive.

    It's that simple

I think the answer is obvious: Yes, we can.

If black people can be racist, then racism would be inconsequential.

Is every expression of racism on the part of whites consequential? No.

And not every expression of racism on the part of blacks is inconsequential.

I agree. But why does the reactive nature of black racism mean that it is not still racism?

Because as stated above, black racism is of no consequence.. its not malicious, its harmless at Best, its insulting at Worst.. black racism can never reach the heights and depths of systematic white supremacy

The problem is that people conflate two different terms: "racism" and "systemic racism". One is personal and one is, as its name suggests, bigger and has to do with power in a society.

If we're talking about "racism" as having a personal belief system that other "races" are not equal or are inferior then absolutely black people can be racist and have been for years and years. Just look at Africa and the deep seated tribal conflicts and wars going down in every single African country. The black Hutus didn't ? 800,000 black Tutsis in Rwanda because of some minor disagreement: the Hutus genuinely believed Tutsis were "inferior" to the Hutus.

? ...just look closer to home to the widespread colorism still present in black societies and/or the way many African immigrants are treated by African Americans upon arrival.

And of course we could speak to anti-semitism against Jews or anti-Asian (particularly Korean) feelings also widespread in many black communities.

As far as "systemic racism" that's another matter. That requires societal power which blacks have yet to exercise in meaningful ways in the last 100 years or so due to history and political circumstances.

    1. If I'm the HR manager of a huge corporation, and make sure that no Asians are hired, how is that inconsequential?

    2. Black people can't be malicious in their actions against other races? You can't be serious.

    3. Since when something being "just" insulting means that it can't be racism?

    4. So only systematic racist oppression is racism?

Can African Americans be racist in America? No, by definition it is impossible.
Can Africans in Africa be racist? Yes, but it would be difficult considering that most African countries are still paying European countries all types of tariffs and fees.

Black people can be prejudice they can't be racist. Most people's idea of "black racism" is name calling. Black people don't have the means to systemically act on their prejudice like whites and Asians can.

Everyone can be racist, what kind of question is this? White and Asian people committed the huge racial genocides/oppressions of human history though.
