There was a story on NPR about a year ago.........where this woman had weight loss surgery or something.
And she noticed how much better she was being treated with the weight loss.
One thing she noticed was that people were willing to pay for her food or make up the difference if she didn't have enough to cover what she wanted to get.
Well, it must've been happening a lot..........because she then said that she started doing it on purpose everywhere she went and felt like she discovered this whole new secret code/way of life for thin people
That's the closest thing I thought of when I saw that scene.
However, now that I think about it........the ? the NPR story was promoting her book, so I'm starting to be a little skeptical of her story now too.

I shouldn't have made it so narrow. It's rare that I like when a dark haired female bleaches her hair. It's very difficult to do without the hair looking dry and damaged. This particular Asian female was an example of that.
