Have you seen the images od the traffic jams for people trying to leave? Not everybody can afford flights and some who can couldn't even get to the airport. Its hard as hell for some folks to leave even if they tried
Oh, I know. I remember when Katrina hit and we up and left. I know it had to be hard on my pop financially, because not only did he have to get us up to Atlanta from MS, but he had to pay for a hotel for a week with food to feed us 3 kids and my mama.
This the ? I can't believe people don't consider when they say "just leave" all casually. Ok leave and go where? You got poor folks who can barely afford where they live now and they just supposed to be able to pick up and leave for an undetermined amount of time to a whole new city?
Add to thefact that those evacuation roads are gonna be jammed up for miles. -

I survived Hurricane Iniki(Cat 4) in Hawaii back in '92. We didn't get it as bad as some of the other islands as the eye didn't make its way to Oahu but ? was mad Crazy to sit thru, watching outside as it passed thu, I'll never forget it. Thank ? our housing was heavy brick military housing.

People in Miami seem to forget how a lot of Dade floods like crazy when it rains. I know hope they prepared so their houses dont get flooded out.

Yeah you're right. The folks I know in the Keys evacuated on Thursday.
My mom tried to get me to take a job assignment down their because she was excited about visiting in the near future and I told her heck no because of ? like this and the fact that after visiting there a few times I deemed it nice to visit but not live. Too damn small -
