The thriller will tell the true story of a black detective who infiltrated the KKK.
Jordan Peele and Spike Lee are teaming up to make a film with a title that’s sure to get people interested: “Black Klansman.”
The thriller will be based on the true story of Ron Stallworth, a black Colorado detective who infiltrated the KKK in 1978. Stallworth reportedly interacted with KKK members via phone or written correspondence, using a white police officer to pose as him during events that he had to be physically present for.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lee will direct the film while Peele and Blumhouse Productions will produce. Denzel Washington’s son John David Washington will star as Stallworth in the film.
Both Lee and Peele have several projects in addition to “Black Klansman” in the works. Peele has written and will direct another social thriller in the vein of “Get Out,” due for release next year. Lee has a Netflix adaptation of his 1986 movie “She’s Got To Have It” coming out in November.

But Hollywood is riddled with nepotism. I've only seen it mentioned as alarming with black actors though, Will Smith and now Denzel.
Not that's what you're saying but it is interesting that it doesn't seem like a problem til blacks take advantage of it. -

Ride them coat tails Spike
His career was in need of a jump start -
Sure

I'm curious to see what he "discovered" cuz them mfers are still active.
Wishful thinking that it lead to hundreds of arrests but that would easily make the movie closer to fiction. -

Spike got some of my all time favorite movies, but I gotta c/s this. He been shaky lately and Peele being involved is a big reason why this could be interesting. -

Didn't Smith only get backlash between people didn't like his son and because that movie was trash. I mean before that when the son did The Day the Earth Stood Still and The Karate Kid no one was really going at Will. -

That and the fact they were in the movie together so it looked like Will handpicked Jaden instead of going with a better actor. -

The crazy thing is that Will's little weirdo children don't seem to be able to or interested in taking the keys he's handing them. I ain't mad at them because they shouldn't be expected to follow in his or Jada's footsteps, but damn, that kinda opportunity is about as rare as can be. -
I think people were ? because it looked like a Will Smith movie but we were tricked into watching a Jaden Smith flick
Plus the 2 did a big press tour to promo the film and we all found out what a ? weirdo Jaden is -

I might be in the minority w/ this, but I thought that movie looked boogie (wack) as ? jus from the previews alone!
All I saw was Will in a crashed ship w/ a helmet on talkin' and Jaden nature hiking around a post apocalyptic earth while his Daddy is tellin' him don't be scurred.
I was not moved.
