returned from injury among other things
the energy level has kicked up
anderson has risen like a phoenix
abreu is hitting like a bona fide monster
moncada is playing good
and the team has started to put together some really fun stretches -- even though next year will be tough as far as the record is concerned im not at all worried about this group of guys being a fun group to watch grow and succeed -- especially as even more prospects join them -- it is high time to be a white sox fan and i for one am excited -

verlander is 8-3 with a 1.99 ERA since July. He was putting those teams on notice. I don't have houston going to the world series but the cubs or dodgers gonna regret not making some trade for him

Arrieta was the pitcher of the month in august & has the lowest 2nd half era in mlb,Hendricks has 6 straight quality starts since coming off dl,the cubs staff is top 3 in mlb starting pitching in the 2nd half.Dodgers acquired darvish,cubs acquired quintana neither team needed verlander.
If the cubs don't make the world series I highly doubt starting pitching will be the reason,the janky bullpen & the offensive struggles vs good pitching will most likely be why -

verlander a great addition to any team making a playoff push but if the cubs dont make a serious run this year its going to be because of their offense not producing in big spots
