I always thought Migos were wack but Culture is fire and one of my favorite albums this year
-
I don't think Rick Ross is as wack as I thought he was.

RICK ROSS
STILL TRASH BUT I APPRECIATE SOME OF HIS JOINTS. -
Does the weeknd count?
I always thought he was soft....now he outshines every rapper he does a song with -
Kendrick. Thought the voices he makes are stupid as ? .
Still think so matter of fact but he's dope -

I liked cole from the first song I heard.
Mine is Chance the Rapper -
I was once biased towards Curren$y because he was from the south. After being on the IC and giving his mixtapes a listen, my opinions changed dramatically! Aside from his music, I like how dedicated he is to his fan base. I honestly can't think of any current mainstream artist that is consistent like him.

Ross
big sean
freeway ( meaning I didn't listen to a whole project until the 2nd lp)

GZA. I copped Liquid Swords many years ago and didn't like it. Years later I put it on and now it's one of my favourite albums.
I think that was down to maturity though. -
Jay-Z: Wasn't feeling his swag and that song wit Foxy in '96 plus Pac called him out on Bomb First so I really wasn't checking for him, then he dropped that damn Sunshine video and I was like nah. But then I heard Hard Knock Life and Money, Cash, Hoes on the cheese bus in the 8th grade damn near everyday for like 3 weeks after it came out lol and I was like ight. Vol. 2 was the album that put me on to him, been a fan every since, he in my top 5 DOA now.
Kanye West: When college dropout came out everybody I knew was blasting this dude and for me, when mad people be listening to somebody I wait til the hype die down then I'll check him out. Wasn't feeling polos and backpacks, I'm usually into ? /Gangsta Rap - Ratchet/Ign'ant ? lol but his music was a change of pace commercially at the time.
50 Cent: As far as hype, same as above. ? man it seemed like everybody was on this ? ? when he blew up. That ? was annoying and it was ? me off. But after about a year I sat down and listened to GRODT and understood the hype to a degree.
Migos: Thought these ? was ass when I heard Bando and Fight Night. Then I heard Add It Up, Migos Dreams ft. Meek Mill and that Wishy Washy. Wishy Washy I keep in rotation. These trap rappers make ? tailor made for the whip but after Wishy Washy I started checkin' for 'em. Culture was solid, some more bangers for the whip. -
Future: Heard a few joints from him like Same Damn Time and Move That Dope but wasn't really feeling him like that. Then my homeboy put me on to 56 Nights and I heard Trap ? and March Madness, realized this ? had joints that slap. So I started ? ' wit' ? Sprite 2, Monster, and Purple Reign then after that it was on. I stay checkin' for dude music now
J. Cole: Thought dude was boring and bland as ? with the personality and charisma of a ? ' cereal box but I respect his lyricism. I still don't really listen to him like that but I do now more than before. Forest Hills Drive was dope.

I basically missed out on the golden age of hip-hop late 80s early 90s cuz i was toddler. LL, PE, EPMD, Rakim, KRS they was gettin' it when I was still shittin' in diapers lol. Didn't get into them til I was 19. Dude at work who love old school hip hop put me on cuz I was mostly into whatever was current. I got introduced to Ego Trip's Book of Rap Lists, and he gave me a bunch of burnt cds he wasn't bumpin' no more or had copies of lol
That's how I came across, LL's Radio and Bigger and Deffer, PE's Yo ? Rush the Show, It Takes a Nation of Millions, Fear of Black Planet, Boogie Down Productions Criminal Minded, By All Means Necessary, EPMD first 4 albums and Big Daddy Kane's Long Live the Kane.
I copped Eric B. and Rakim's Paid in Full and it was off to the races. Oh and that muthafuckin' Special Ed? I Got It Made?!? ? . lol I slapped the ? out of that in the whip on the regular -
Jay-Z & Schoolboy Q

J Cole definitely. Didn't give a ? about him til I heard his last two albums. He still ain't a favorite of mines but I respect him way more than before.
