    Good thread question. I have an ex who is going to be extremely successful one day, she went to top notch schools, has incredible range of language skills, and her family has money to burn so she's always got the resources to globetrot and to do other activities that enhance her resume and build networks. And really the reason she broke up with me is because she felt like our relationship was holding back her career; also while we were together she was always dissing me underhanded and implying that she's going to be super successful and that I'm going to be just a regular person, maybe successful on a small scale but nothing like her... And man I'll tell you that used to get under my skin bad.
    So when we broke up a few years ago I used to always think: if she does become as successful as she has the potential to be it will have justified her breaking up with me. So based on this lingering thought I became totally obsessed with becoming as successful as was humanly possible in my own career, in part because of spitefulness... haha love will make a person totally go nuts...

    So anyway to answer t/s questions, no I wouldn't be upset now, but there was a time when I would have been very upset.

    I'd unhealthily competitive, so I would probably catch many feelings. I would give them their props though. I wouldn't have cheated on her though, so I wouldn't have that bad karma thing going on.
