I did hear something about DOC helping write on Doggystyld. Yet still this album is too ? smooth all the war through in terms of production might be the best album ever for rap.

Isn't something sounding dated subjective ? And something produced back in the day is gonna sound different .
Even with ? that g-funk ? is not around like it used to be. Not arguing production to me is clearly better than Illmatic. -

Illmatic isn't even a top 10 album so this thread is pointless nah I'm bullshitting it's close because of the impact of snoops album but too say it's way better is just crazy.

Good Kidd Madd City is also severely overrated. That ? has very little replay value. I like Illmatic but give me "Me Against The World" over Illmatic any day.

I feel where threadstarter is coming from but snoop lacks subject matter. Thats like saying take care is better than gkmc. It might have more of an apppeal , musically, to a casual fan but there isnt a lot you can take from outside of simping.

I don't know anything about Snoop using ghostwriters, all I know is that the only rap album I'd compare to Illmatic is Paid In Full and ? isn't on the same field as either of them.

Snoops flow on this album to me is the best I've ever heard on any rap album and that's my honest opinion.

like others have said Illmatic is better lyrically, but musically I rocks with ? more Illmatic doesn't have a song as smooth as Gz Up, Hoes Down, Doggy Dogg World or Gz & Hustlas IMO Snoop's flow on The ? was crazy also

I liked Illmatics production a lot and ? obviously had great beats as well so tip the scales with lyrics, Illmatic wins
