I just think it's fun to talk about. Everybody has their favorite subjects of discussion. I like philosophy. I don't go around searching for theists to debate. I just get in these conversations. It's like rain. It just happens. Irl, is usually the theist who kicks things off.

The Lord's Prayer was meant to be general though. It's the archetype for how one should pray. When the Bible specifically speaks about having your sins erased, it includes confession though. For instance:
1 John 1:9 - If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
That said, it's certainly a matter up for interpretation I guess. -

Blacks following the muslim religion suffer from the same lack of understanding for the most part. However, muslim propaganda tend to cater to the black communities struggle in this christian based country. They say what blacks want to hear essentially. But in going over the religion with with the same fine comb, you'll find just as many fallacies and similarities as the other abrahmic religions. A lot of ? still won't add up and you're back at square one.
If a person chooses to go on their spiritual journey free of bias and without a need to seek haven, they'll recognize that. Most can't, won't, or don't know to do that. They often don't realize they have the luxury of choice. Nor do they realize that the same people offering salvation would have them in ? years before. Just sweep that part under the rug. Willing drinking the kool aid and ignoring how it was made cause it taste good.
my thing is this you all are scared of the unknown... u wanna kno everything.. that's impossible.. jus as u say there are inconsistencies in religion there are inconsistencies in science... both sides are neither right or wrong honestly its all in what u believe.. my problem with yall "atheists" are u try so hard 2 prove people wrong and point out flaws in our logic but disregard the flaws in your own.. id be way more accepting of yall theories if u said " hey every thing has a start.. my start 2 this world (big bang theory) is just as far fetched as yalls (? ) both are not really logical but it fits my beliefs.. but naw yall dont do that.. -

Alot of scientific theory becomes obsolete when new information comes in. By 2130 they will have either ironed out the kinks in The Big Bang or completely scrapped it and gone with something else.
That's what makes science different from religion. Science actively tries to challenge ideas that are held by people in order to either destroy, support or reinforce them.
People aren't married to the Big Bang as creationists are to creationism. Because if some super genius comes along and proves the Big Bang wrong the scientific community will regard him and shower him with respect.
The same way Einstein got respected for overthrowing Newtonian physics. Sure some people didnt want to believe newton could be wrong but science speaks for itself, it's not religion it is what it is. It's observable and can be copied to get the same or similar results.

Religion will go on because no body gives a rats ass about big bang theories quantum theories or any of that ?
none of that teaches me how to live a better life daily nor does it secure my mind in time of strife. It's not teaching me how to love my family and friends better and really is giving me no answers to anything important.
Christianity islam and judaism persists because they are useful to there believers every issue the bible deals with is still relevant to this very day and you can apply it's wisdom in all areas of your life. -
