Best we can do is have everyone name their top 10-20or even 25. And each number should get their own numerical value of points and based on the averages rank them.

Thats what we have the polls for, ? what they sayin on twitter or other sites. The IC is gon vote for the debatable battles.
The only hurdle i see is comin up with a system for the list as time goes on. There has to be a point system. For no name battles, 1 rounders,etc. Then also, what can we do with the rappers who battle once or twice a year? -

1 rounders are worth 1 point
No names are worth 1 point
If a battler goes 3 months without battlin they lose 1 point

There doesn't need to be a real rank...Cause any ? can lose any time, and it's not scripted or set up for someone to win...Certain ? just perform better or worse than others at certain times...And others have performed better or worse consistently...

there was a scoring system i used hella years ago with some friends...ider what it was for i think it was for movies or something.
everybody gets 20 points & names a top 10. they give each person/thing in their top 10 a score from 1-5. if enough of us do it for battle rap, add up all the points each battler gets & then that's the agreed upon top 10 in order.
so like some scorecards could be:
card 1
o red - 2
clips - 2
ars - 2
b magic - 2
hollow da dinininon - 2
verb - 2
real deal - 2
daylyt - 2
swave - 2
lotta zay - 2
card 2
o red - 5
clips - 3
ars - 1
b magic - 4
hollow - 1
verb - 1
daylyt - 2
swave - 1
zay - 1
real deal - 1
add all that ? up & the top 10 is:
red (7 votes)
b magic (6 votes)
clips & lotta zay tied for 3 & 4 (5 votes). in a tie we go off how well they did in their last battle or we just vote
yadda yadda...
idk how that would work out if you want a top 25 tho

Sounds nice in theory pero just like in the rap industry #'s r gonna play a factor.
Hitman holla and arsenal gonna complain about their low ranks and start citing their views.
A couple of things would have to be put in place. Judges or making the polls official as a decider in battles. -
Bring the polls back.

i dont know about scoring, but i think battle raps should be more covered. i was hoping someone who have a site where you can click on a rapper and it'll show a schedule of past and upcoming battles, and you could link all the past battles to youtube. i would like having a vote on every battle too.Steve Lobs wrote: »

Biz already pointed the ? out in the last thread, some ? are casual fans of this ? and some are die hard fans. With that being said tho, i think its neccessary. U got ? claimin their top tier not showin up, claimin they havent lost in years,etc. This ? a sport to me, so there should be a champ imo. This ? might not mean nothin right now on a large scale, but i think it will spark the attention of somebody and turn into somethin or start somethin new in battle rap. The battle rappers and owners be watchin the bloggers ,im sure some of them mfs be comin through here.

Last week we were talking about putting down lyrics for every battle and about 9 ? said they would contribute. I guarantee you I was the only one who even started doing research or even remember that ? .
Its easier to talk the talk or bring up ideas than to walk the walk and follow through on ideas. Am I right? -

if people wana start doing this we could start with the uw event. maybe get some people to volunteer transcribing lyrics...maybe assign 2-3 people per battle then at the end of it compare what they got to make sure the lyrics are right. then pass that on to the people that wana break down lyrics.
