Netflix has ordered original series “Narcos” about the infamous Medellín Cartel in Colombia, starring Brazilian thesp Wagner Moura as drug trafficker and politician Pablo Escobar.
Series, helmed by Jose Padilha (who directed this year’s “RoboCop” reboot), is expected to debut on Netflix in 2015. Padilha and Moura (“Elysium”) previously worked together on Brazilian cop action and political film franchise ”Elite Squad.”
“Narcos,” set to begin filming soon in Colombia, is produced by Gaumont International Television. Series is executive produced by Padilha, Eric Newman (“Children of Men”), the team of Doug Miro and Carlos Bernard (“Sorcerer’s Apprentice”), and Chris Brancato (“Hannibal”). Netflix has placed an initial order of 10 episodes.
“Jose and Wagner together created one of the most sophisticated and chilling portraits of criminality and official corruption ever in their Elite Squad movies,” Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos said in a statement. “Their version of the Escobar saga will be like nothing ever seen before.”
L.A.-based Gaumont International Television is part of Gaumont, the French motion picture studio formed in 1895. Studio’s other projects include the second season of “Hannibal” for NBC, the second season of “Hemlock Grove” for Netflix and “Barbarella” for Amazon and Canal Plus.

i was hoping for a story that was told from escobar POV & about the medellin cartel ....*shrugs* i'll give it this a chance tho.

Theres something on netflix now like this, cant remember the name but its in all spanish w/ subtitles so i passed lol
U pretty much have to make it from the feds perspectivr to have it in english -
