McDonald's Killed The Dollar Menu — Here's What It's Doing Instead

Dude said Subway lmao
Subway has been irrelevant as hell for the longest. Shake Shack and Five Guys beat them at their own game and personally after the E. Coli scare I'm a bit leery of Chipotle right now.
You realize Subway is the number two fast food chain in the world, right?
Shake Shack and Five Guys aren't even touching Subway overall. I'm not talking preferences here. I'd go w those two over McDonalds, as well.
Subway is far from irrelevant.
You're missing what I'm saying, McDonalds changing their whole way of competing to being similar to how these newer "build your own plate" guys are doing it, with healthier options, would skyrocket their sales. Changing prices or a few menu items will do nothing.
Nah I get what you're saying. Five Guys and Shake Shack are smaller than Subway right now so obviously they're not on that level quite yet since they're 20 plus years behind; but they are also quickly chipping at their key markets (like here in NYC) to the point that nobody even looks in Subway's direction anymore. Even more so now after their ? scandal. Meanwhile you go to a Shake Shack out here and you'd be lucky to not be standing in line for more than 5 minutes.
TBH Mickey D's following that blueprint would do nothing for their business. Not as long as their menu is overstuffed to the point that it takes people minutes to make up their minds on what they want to eat in a damn fast food joint. ? have you not read about how disastrous their "build a burger" campaign has already been? which is something that attempted exactly what you're getting at.
-
Yeah. They would have to completely give their menu a facelift w much less items.
-
i was wondering what happened...
i thought it was because i was going to the mickey off the exit ramp -
Wendy's recently started offering a "4 for $4" meal that includes a junior bacon cheeseburger, four chicken nuggets, small fries, and a drink — all priced at $4.
-
stopped into a McDonald's in some rich suburb that had the build your own burger set-up. holy ? damn.. I can't lie that ? was a gourmet burger. If they were all like that I'd ? with McDonald's heavy
-
If they were to change to match their competitors, they'd bounce back.
Build your own burgers/sandwiches set up like Chipotle or Subway
Fresh, never frozen beef
Fresh tomatoes, lettuce etc
Fresh baked buns
Better oil for their fries
More cheese seletions
Something like that would help them than these ? tactics

-
? if it aint whataburger, griffs, or wingfields I aint eating that burger if it's fast food. If I'm gone spend money I at least want it to taste good.
-
? yoself if you eating mcdonalds
them ? killing you slowy anyway -
started as soon as ? wanted $15 an hour
blame them -
What the h*ll is McDonalds?
-
This is good imo...i hear yall about five guys and shake shack (i miss in and out too)...but if im eating a greasy cheeseburger im not always gonna spend 8 bucks for a it...
if i can get a mcchicken and a small fry for a quick lunch with a drink for 3 dollars its tough to beat that...i already know im not gettin some gourmet meal but im gettin exactly what i pay for -
the breakfast all day was a good idea imo although I don't eat much McDonald's if I do it's going to be breakfast, if they bring back the mcskillet burrito I'll be there daily
-
They could have a 2 for 20 cents menu and I wouldn't eat there
Disgusting

Yeah but would you rather spend 5 dollars on something that's at worst a low rent diner burger or 5 bucks on mystery meat with "special sauce"? I know where my money would go.
