This isn't surprising considering that these are more afraid of the dark than a 4 year old. Jews are constantly whitewashing their own history, so why should we not expect them to do it ours? With all of that being said, (not that's it's essential for the role,) can Zoe even sing? Rex predicts that Zoe will get the "thou dost protest too much," Oscar nomination for this role.

with that said, zoe still sounds and looks nothing like nina in the previews
the black face is also offensive
and I refuse to believe she was the best actress for the job
this is just another example of film makers opting for the more palatable option
what's makes the casting even more shameful and somewhat ironic is that nina, growing up in the jim crow south, felt her dark skin, wide nose and big lips limited her opportunities ...which I'm sure it did

Shes not even a great actress fam or a musician that even looks remotely similar and its about the lengths they had to go..Its not personal its just a bad casting choice.. This moving isnt going to make money so that excuse is bs.. Whoever was in charge of casting didnt look or try to look far thats pretty obvious..

I was willing to give her a chance, but this is embarrassing
besides the casting, the project is unauthorized, and the filmmakers never requested permission, nor invited the participation of her estate
then david oyelowo's character was in reality flamboyantly ? and her manager, however the film makers described the movie as being a love story between the two....really don't know what that means or what they are trying to suggest
