Truth hurts. He inherited a Super Bowl team that Cowher built and got em a ring. He's a great motivator, but he's not a great coach. His drafts the last few years have been mostly busts.
I said the same as Bradshaw earlier in the season.I think our season is done Steelerbros, our secondary is one of the worst in league and we have way too many injuries to overcome.... Mike Tomlin needs to go.
Season ain't over but I have been saying Tomlin is wack. What does he bring to the table besides cliche filled quotes in press conferences? He's just a cheerleader.
Tomlin has the woat clock management. He throws challenge flags for the most insignificant plays that don't matter. His teams play down to the level of the competition way too many times. How many times have they tricked off getting bye weeks and better playoff seeds bcuz of losing to sorry ass teams? He is a DB specialist and during his tenure the secondary has been the weakness of the team. The team has been one of the most penalized teams under his tenure. He routinely is out-coached by Belichick and John Harbaugh.
What identity does he give the team? Offense? No. That comes from Ben, Brown, Bell and Haley's game plan. Is it the defense? No. When we were elite on defense ? LeBeau was the mastermind. If you want a cliche filled press conference, Tomlin is your man. If you are looking for a coach with a clipboard filled with the X's and O's that will win a game, Tomlin is not that dude.
He has never had a losing season you say. Bcuz he has Big Ben as a qb I say. Now after typing all that ? i will say this. Tomlin is not going anywhere and will be the coach for as long as he wants. But you have to watch every single game to see that he really doesn't do much for the Steelers.

We can end up in the 5th seed if we and the Chiefs end up 11-5. End up facing Houston instead of Pittsburgh

Do you want to compare cower and Tomlin coaching stats because cower isn't winning that but he's considered great.. perception is a muthafucka
Cowher had Neil O'Dumbell, Mike Tomczak, Kordell Stewart and Tommy Maddox as his qb's while constantly losing offensive and defensive coordinators to other teams. -

Inherited what? He's good coach you better look at his record bruh
Nobody's saying he's not a good coach. He's a good coach, but far from great.vageneral08 wrote: »PanchoYoSancho wrote: »PanchoYoSancho wrote: »vageneral08 wrote: »Terry bradshaw talking slick about tomlin huh....? that redneck ?

Cowher inherited a middle of the pack team and built a contender that went to 2 Super Bowls and won 1. He also helped build the team that Tomlin won a ring with. Those were by large in part Cowher's players and coaches.
What? He retired in 06 what they did in 2010 and 2011 had nothing to do with him
I don't see this great coach from Cowher dude won 1 super bowl in 15 years
Not saying Cowher was a great coach either, but he's CLEARLY a better coach than Tomlin. His teams underachieved, but he still knew how to build a roster and coaching staff. Cowher was also cursed with ? QB play for most of his coaching career in Pittsburgh. He only had 3 years with Big Ben (1 as a rookie) and got to 2 AFC Championship games and won a Super Bowl. If he had Big Ben for a decade like Tomlin, he would've had 2-3 Super Bowls.
He took a team with Neil O' Donnell to the Super Bowl which is an achievement in itself and O' Donnell proceeded to give a Super Bowl away.
We'll, being a great coach is how the argument start with the bradshaw comment.. but I can't think of a great coach in the NFL besides BB..
For you to say he know how to built a roster and not have a hof qb until the tail end of his career. Doesn't make a good argument of building a roster.
To be honest Mike tomlin actually help Ben become who he is today by opening the offense and drafting players.
Unlike Cowher, Tomlin has no input in drafting. And the offense became elite once Ben and Haley got on the same page. Haley got rid of them long ass seven step drop backs and got Ben to get the ball out quicker. You see the results. -
Coughlin is considering that jacksonville coaching job??? His old ass better sit down somewhere
-
Y'all took my post the wrong way.
I'm mad Carr went down but me being mad isn't gonna bring him back next week. Gotta root for Mcgloin to get us some wins. -
