Bird soup on the menu this Sunday

Injury ReportThe Falcons are banged up heading into Week 2, and there’s not much encouraging news on the injury report. Julio Jones and Mohamed Sanu both remained limited in practice, and De’Vondre Campbell showed up on the injury report with an ankle injury.
Dan Quinn said prior to practice that he would anticipate both Sanu and Jones being a full go for Friday. If they aren’t, that’s a problem.
Brooks Reed was once again held out of practice with a shoulder injury. Quinn hoped Reed would be able to work his way up to some limited work in Friday’s practice, but I would not hold your breath in hopes that Reed will play on Sunday against the Raiders.
Dwight Freeney was held out of practice on Wednesday, and it may have been, once again, a rest day for the veteran. Freeney practiced fully on Thursday. Devonta Freeman, who was limited on Wednesday with a quad injury, returned to full practice on Thursday.
Rookie linebacker De’Vondre Campbell was not on Wednesday’s injury report, but he showed up on Thursday’s with an ankle injury. Campbell was limited Thursday, so we’ll watch his status carefully tomorrow.
Keanu Neal did not practice Thursday as he continues to recover from knee surgery.
The Raiders were missing three starting offensive linemen at practice on Thursday. Center Rodney Hudson (knee), right guard Gabe Jackson (knee) and right tackle Menelik Watson (groin) were all held out of practice for a second consecutive day on Thursday. Perhaps the Falcons will actually be able to get a sack this week.

I read somewhere Campbell not playing
-
Yea, he's not playing. I don't think Reed is playing either. Neal still out.....
Julio and Sanu limping on the field from bad passes. -
I liked what I seen from Matt and Free. The O-lined killed that 1st drive.
-
Defense is still ? ? but the running game got going today.
Matt was on point outside of that one bs throw

And the defense gave them 14 points due to penalties. Alford and Tru got caught. Front 7 showed a little more pressure. We need more though. I hate to say it but Campbell definitely earned that starting spot. Spoon was looking like a liability out there. Offense got going because free was eating on the ground and Colman spread the defense out in the slot. No huddle caught them off guard too. Hardy's catch was clutch! -
Alford might be past the point of fixing his mentality all ? up It's like he gets scared everytime the ball goes deep.
Hageman was getting pressure up the middle but Beasley still ain't showed up. -

Alford's rookie contract is up next year. I think he's gone unless he takes a huge paycut and I doubt it. Collins and Goodwin waiting in the wings to take his spot. Grady got some pressure inside too. Run-defense started out slow but they improved in the 2nd half. No comment on Beasley.....
Offense moved down field with ease. That double TE set, that Shanahan loves, was killing Oakland underneath. They were too aggressive and it left all 3 of our TEs open all game. You know Julio goin eat regardless. None of our receivers disappointed. -
Matt Ryan's current NFL rankings.
QB rating: 1st
Pass yards: 2nd
Touchdowns: 2nd
Yards per attempt: 1st

He got some dog in him. Defense needs all the help they can get. 3 starters, on D, are injured right now and Vic is still underachieving.
-
I wonder if they are expecting someone to miss some extended time with Schofield coming back. Interested to see what roster move they make when this becomes official.

Probably DeVondre.....nobody has an update on him. I'm guessing that he has a high ankle sprain and won't be back for 2 months.
They don't play the same position but Scho can play Reed's spot at DE or Sam until Brooks gets back. Quinn can shuffle the LB core around until DeVondre gets back. -
-
I hope Campbell is not out longer than another week or 2. Looking forward to seeing Neal play also.... Probably learn more tomorrow.
-
-
Odd timing but all of a sudden Paul Worrilow will miss 3-4 weeks with a groin injury. All of a sudden we are thin at LB, especially if Campbell is expected to miss more time.
-
Thats prolly why Scho came back. Special Teams and depth.
-
-
Really hope Julio being out is just a precaution. He has played with a broken foot before, so it might not be a problem. It's hard seeing him getting up wincing after each hit though.
-
That ? always hurt
-
It's a ankle injury every time he gets rolled up It's gonna come back
-
Any predictions for the game?
Im expecting a shoot out. Two top 5 offenses and 2 bad defenses. But I think our defense will make a couple more plays and allow us to pull off a win. -
Man idk I'm expecting some bs just like the last Katrina game.
