Nas Lost -
Nasir Jones is the best in my opinion. He has been artistic, lyrical, and consistent his entire career and has still reinvented himself successfully. A lot of people claim that he was always on that "back to Africa" ? but he really hasn't been. All of his albums reflected his state of mind at the time and each one was daring and profound in some way. He never dumbed down and sacrificed lyricism for hit records. He wrote many hit songs and didn't need excessive features to carry him his whole career like some rappers. There is nothing more i can say really, he's the best around.

Jay and Nas by far(both represent different ends of the spectrum), Kanye really can really change rap if he wants to. Dude seriously is at the point in his career where he can make the music he wants to make and he will still get fan support.

Just because you cant recite 70% of a rappers lyrics doesnt mean that you don't notice the impact that he/she has in music. Your favorite rapper doesnt have to be who you give the crown to.
