Then it was B.G. It's All On U, Vol. 1
B.G. was my favorite Hot Boy back then even though I ? wit all 4 of em. Only 16 years old going on 28 lol:
"Me and Baby ? tight/he beefin we creeping
Swerving yo Bend every night no rest and no sleeping
We hustle serious with this rap like we playing in the playoffs
? ? 'z lagging? Catch the side line and lay-off!" - Silent B.G.

Then of course I copped Chopper City in the Ghetto, the first Cash Money album I ever heard. My cousins loved B.G., then one of em brought this tape to my house we was bangin' out to Goldeneye 007 on N64 lol. Stack was our favorite place with either Power Weapons or Automatics, one shot kills - License to ? . Man we got it in listening to this right here:

Would post more from this album, but the whole album slap. One of my favorite albums PERIOD. -
So then, by May 16th, 2000 when Big Tymer$ I Got That Work dropped, I officially copped that, 400 Degreez and Tha Block Is Hot that same day. I remember that episode of Rap City tha basement when they first premiered Get Your Roll On:

https://youtu.be/Bc6H5p4KDz8 -
Hot Boy$ Guerrilla Warfare, shiid I must've copped like 3 of them ? lol. To this day I know that whole album word for word verse for verse. I know 400 Degreez & Tha Block Is Hot albums like that too. But anyway, incredible album. Some of my top favorite tracks:

I heard this album right after Chopper City in the Ghetto. It was then that I realized the whole sound was just new and different. I just didn't hear no ? like this outta the East Coast which was where most of our music came from. Fresh was a just a mad scientist back then.
Rich ? - Probably my favorite Mannie Fresh beat ever. I'll put this ? against any heavyweight producer past or present, don't care. ? not seeing Mannie man I'm sorry

Ha Remix feat. the Hot Boy$ - this remix ? all over the one feat Jay-Z. ? almost ruined the song lol.

? had me wantin' visit all the sets of New Orleans they repped. Had people thinkin' I was from there lol -
@thagreat45 appreciate those drops man. I think its dope as hell that you're from N.Y. and have an appreciation for old Cash Money albums. You pretty much have a lock on BG, Wayne, Juve, Hot Boys and Big Tymers. That's what we grew up on.
Since you're a fan of Mannie, there is one album that I'd recommend. Check out UNLV album Uptown 4 Life. This was a group that put Cash Money on the map regionally.
BG was the bridge from coming up under that group to when UNLV left. That's when Juve and Turk came on.
Give it a listen though. Mannie was masterful on that album. That album also introduced us to Ziggly Wiggly with his skits.
U.N.L.V. - Uptown 4 Life (1996):

Lil Real One feat. Soulja Slim
https://youtu.be/woQ6frXpO4A
He was supposed to be the first that popped on Slim's label; dude had crazy talent for a 17 year old. Now he in jail doing life. -
You mentioning him makes me think of all the rappers dead or in jail from the city.
Dead - Yella Boy, ? Daddy, Tim Smooth, Big Ed, Soulja Slim, Tre 8, Sporty T, MC Thick, Kilo G, G-Slimm, Everlasting Hitman, Twelve O'Klok, Warren Mayes, Magnolia Shorty, VL Mike, BTY YoungN
Jail - Mac, BG, C-Murder, Mystikal, Real One. I know I'm probably missing more. -
both these tracks have me driving wreckless

I'm a catch up on this album, and so many of the other ones y'all posted that help Cash Money along the way and showcased the classic sound of Mannie Fresh. -

I'm not the only one that feels like this but once Mannie left that was the end of their sound. Mannie was Cash Money. Just being young listening to his sound gradually get better with each album as I got older.
I got more albums to put you on if you're interested. -

Even after he left Cash Money I always wondered why he wasn't sought after a lot. Yeah you mentioned TI and Jeezy and he did a little with Ross, Slim Thug, ? C, and Bun B. Mystikal had them Mannie tracks just there for him when he got out and didn't capitalize off it. I feel like he deserved better. -

Man it's a lot of tracks that Mannie did that I didn't know, that one being one and others.

Fiend & Glock (formerly of Prime Suspects).
Can I Burn? was low key a compilation I really enjoyed. I thought it was dope that he took that approach after leaving No Limit. -

This song was deep. A lot of them lines are hard to imagine but Black Menace was criminally underrated. Big Boy as a whole was.
