I was just on youtube and I saw a song called Kings Of NY by Kool G Rap, Big Daddy Kane and Rakim. It looked interesting so I clicked it. Clearly this isn't a studio recording. Its a mix that some DJ made, but it doesn't sound good. The vocals don't match the beat. And sometimes the vocals are sped up or slowed down.
I wish people would leave the original songs alone.

Here's another one called Come Go With Me that is supposed to be Raekwon, Ghostface, Kool G Rap and Rakim, but they're just acapellas thrown together.

And if we're talking about producers that sample other people's music, the sampling laws say that you have to clear the sample with the copyright and publishing owner.
In other words, sampling is ok because you have to clear it. But these Youtube remixes are unauthorized and 9 times out of 10 they don't sound right.

Not really a remix but Biggie's verse on Three Bricks from Fishscale wasn't a bad addition and i know it was snatched from somewhere

I think it was left off of The Biggie Duets album -

I'm pretty sure it was a verse from Life After Death.
However, they cleared that verse with the copyright/publishing owner.
The premise for this thread is unauthorized remixes that some wannabe DJ made in his bedroom. The vocals are offbeat and the lyrics don't match the music.
Three Bricks was professionally done, by professionals. I'm talking about amateur remixes. Remixes that aren't done properly that are floating around Youtube.
They should make a law/rule that if you have an unauthorized remix and it sounds horrible you should have to pay a fee. That would filter out most of the garbage. -
And I will respectfully disagree as a Lot of time the Unauthorized remix is better than the Authorized remix versions. A Great Example would be this atrocity...

But this Unauthorized version right here Slaps...

There are more examples but this one stands out as far as great examples... -
Who is the "they" that should do the banning?

They both sound wack to me.
And you just proved my point. The original Mackavelli series (1-9) >>> Until The End Of Time, Better Days, Loyal To The Game & Pac's Life -

Actually Original Makaveli series were all Unauthorized so you are contradicting yourself... As to my post the Akon mix Slaps even the OG is better than the Elton John mockery that is off beat and vocals speed changed to ride a trashbin beat ? Eminem cursed the world with we will have to just disagree...

@ 2:19 Pac explains what he was trying to do. So the original Makevelli series was authorized. He told the producers to hook it up later. So the Mavavelli series is the closest thing to the original. At least he met with those producers and had a relationship with them. Its not like they were total strangers.

There was a lot of tracks that were never able to get sample clearance and Afeni Fought to shut those tapes Down even though Daz who was one of Pac Producers was behind leaking those joints because he was Mad Suge Named Michel le' and Cold 187um heads of Deathrow in his absence. The battle was public and she than released R U Still Down as a Strike against Deathrow having control over all the Masters Pac recorded while signed to the label, it took years of Court Battles Daz was Sued by Pac's estate and all kinds of ? popped over those Makaveli Mix Tapes Daz Helped bless us with... -
Remember being a kid playing video games getting frustrated when the ? was hard and throwing the controller down talking about "they cheating!"?
Who is "they" ? ? -
I remember back in the limewire days you'd always find songs that "featured" a mega list of cats like pac, big, 50, em, jay, cam, ye, game, etc. etc. and it would always be a blend of some ? . just random verses from each artist over the same beat. after a while you'd wise up and stop trying to download those songs
-
LOL,you can't stop people from making their own mixes, that's literally the birth of the culture. and @DarthRozay
Limewire had so much unreleased fire,my little cousin had Limewire he used to find so many mixtape songs and
unreleased joints. Young Chris had this song called "Back around my old way" so raw and i can't find it I had it burned
to disc but it got scratched. -
I like remixes if it sound dope
so i disagree
as long as you can tell it's bootleg
not trying to pushed as authorized
that's really for rappers that don't drop much
a nice remix helps you have more material to listen to
.....
that first remix was pretty dope -
Depends on how it sounds.
This album was dope. All original beats and the voices were in sync. He put work in.

Yeah but if you've listened to the early tapes of Grandmaster Flash, Cold Crush, Treacherous 3, etc. They used to rap over other people's beats while the DJ mixed the records.
But when it was time to make a studio recording they'd get a band to replay the original song rather than use two turntables and two copies of the record. They did it that way because it sounds professional.
Rapper's Delight wouldn't have worked if it was a DJ mixing the records. -
According to my dj friend an unauthorized remix is not a remix, it's a bootleg.

Well they remove certain songs for copyright issues but certain remixes go under the radar at Youtube.Could just not listen to things you dont like.
I hate it when I'm looking for something I like and a unauthorized/bootleg recording comes up so I click on it and its the vocals from one of the artists songs sped up or slowed down over a beat that doesn't match the lyrics or the bounce/rhythm of the beat.
