It seems a bit outlandish to suggest Carmelo Anthony could join the Miami Heat in free agency next season, but, it’s technically not impossible.
Come the end of this season, the Heat will only have $2 million dollars of guaranteed money on their books – the contract of Norris Cole. Of course, that would require LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade to all opt-out of their contracts.
However, doing so would apparently allow the Heat to sign Carmelo Anthony – this assuming that James, Bosh and Wade were all willing to sign for $14 million dollars.

They already are. Just look how they team up in college. Duke,Kentucky,Kansas etc. -

Interesting.

For one, it wouldn't necessarily improve the heat. They dont need a player like carmelo who needs 20-25 shots a game.
Secondly, why is everyone against this whole 'teaming up' notion?
If you were in their shoes wouldn't you want the best players on your team?
I would WANT 10 superstars on my team and go 82-0 every year. -

It would improve the Heat a lot, Melo would take Wades spot as the 2nd option

Lol @ it wouldn't improve the Heat. Melo doesn't need 20 to 25 shots a game to be effective. That's just on the Knicks where he feels like he has to for the team to be competitive this year. Stop being so close-minded and understand what it means to be a superstar.
People like Melo and them are superstars because they can change their game up and still be effective no matter who their teammates are. The same way Wade, Bosh, and to a smaller extent Lebron changed his game up, so can Melo.... quite easily actually. He's great at moving off the ball, he's a very good offensive rebounder, he's a good spot-up shooter etc.
You fairweather fans are embarrassingly naive when it comes to the game of basketball. It's like y'all just go to the stats, come up with paper thin arguments and front like you actually watched the game or like you even know what you're talking about.... 'scust. -
Actually this isnt a rumor. Just speculation based on salary figures

This can turn out good for the league, IF everyone does the same thing. This can result in a lot more actual contenders and the teams will actually be good, instead of all these pretenders running around and their silly fans acting like they have a chance to win (see NBA thread... you know who you are).
The other superstars or superstars in the making will need to humble their ego and link up with other great talents just to stand a chance now.
... Plus the backlash will only be temporary. Winning erases everything, just look at Lebron. Right after he formed the Avengers ? was on some, "he will never win MVP or never be in my top list because he ran to another man's team." Now they have him in their Mt. Rushmore and claim he's on his way to taking out Jordan. Fans and media are much too fickle to base your decisions on what they think. Just win a couple of rings and ? get amnesia. Lebron's probably saying, "I told you so" to all the ? that thought his decision was the wrong move. -
? corny as hell.

If the new wave of the NBA is super-teams, we need to decrease the amount of teams cause I ain't tryna watch a team who's best player is Larry Sanders or some ? .

That would make it really boring tho, if they always winning and beating everybody there would be no need for other teams -
But look at how y'all view the last generation of superstars?
Duncan, Kobe, AI, VC, Tmac, Nash, Dirk.
Only a few have rings and even a team to get one.
I don't even blame them for the superstar teams anymore. -

? mad that the white owner don't have the power no more?
I love that blacks making their own decisions.
And shoutout to the 80's lakers that had 3 HOFers
Throw in the Celtics that had a bunch of HOFers
-
lol @ the theory wade had to suppress his ego in order for the heat and lebron to be great like he aint been falling off
for the heat their biggest issue moving forward isnt wades knees its his ego i think wade lying to himself is gonna make things difficult for pat riley since he values loyalty
drop wade
keep bosh
pick up melo
move bron to pg
sign a big who values winning more than money
and its a wrap for the east -

? ? those teams were built through draft and trades, guys became hall of famers playing together, Larry Bird and Magic Johnson didn't decide they should team up -

The most hilarious thing about this post is that it got "wacked" by a majority of Laker fans LMFAO!!!!! -

Carmelo has been consistently near the top of the league in field goal attempts since he entered the league, knicks AND nuggets. So how can you possibly say Carmelo can EASILY change his game and adapt to not being the 1st option when he's not that type of player and has never done it?
Carmelo was, is, and always will be a volume shooter. And an average to below average defender. That's not what the heat need, especially if in this hypothetical situation they decide to keep bosh and wade.
And I said it wouldnt NECESSARILY improve the Heat because they already have plenty of scorers and shooters. They need adequate big men to compete with indiana's frontcourt. Carmelo doesn't solve that. -

Magic got drafted by the lakers and played with KAJ.
Why would he leave?
He won a ring and MVP his first year.

Besides that Shaq and Wade championship team.
His team didn't do nothing till LBJ got there.
Bosh lead teams. Lmao
