Bottom line is that Slick Rick is really from England so that's why he had the English accent. Dana Dane was just a biter.< WRONG!
Dougie Fresh and The Get Fresh Crew's classic 12" single The Show/Ladi Dadi predates Dana Dane's album by two years. Slick Rick had verses on The Show and Ladi Dadi was basically his solo joint with Doug on the beatbox. Everybody who heard Dana Dane thought he was biting Slick Rick's style.
Not only was Dana Dane biting Slick Rick's accent but he bit his style of storytelling on songs like Nightmares, Delancy Street and even Cinderfella Dana Dane.

Richard Walters aka Slick Rick was born January 14, 1965 and was raised in the south-west London district of Mitcham, to a British Jamaican family. In 1977 his family moved to Brooklyn and as A child he met Dana Dane, with whom he later formed a hip hop duo known as the Kangol Crew" Which means they were rapping together for 8 years prior to any records being made or released / Hence >(The Show/Ladi Dadi 1985). Dana Dane & Slick Rick were the only members of the Kangol Crew. Even if Dana Dane adopts Slick Rick's accent its not biting, because they were in the same Crew" And as you can tell they rapped about the same things also, And if people are talking about who's better, then that's all subjective.
