Politics.
The "tough on crime" thing has been on going on since the 70s and the republicans have made crime a much bigger issue than it has ever been. I doubt he wants to look weak by releasing people early. Even though it would make a lot of sense socially and economically. -
[quote="damobb2deep;757467although I expect this being sarcasm it is true...[/quote]
He's not the president of black ppl, but he needs to intervene in Ferguson. You gotta civil war brewing with the ? KKK threatening protestors. These ? cops murderin ? all across america. They just shot a 12 year boy in Cleveland. We don't need this ? chastising us about violence. He needs to investigate these racist police departments, the SAME ones that threaten him & his family for being black. ? that "america is better than this" ?

I see some of yall are ridiculously quick to point the finger at Obama, but realistically at this point thats ridiculous. I mean...it just happened like yesterday. Not enough time to even consider any where near all the factors and come up with a good strategy. Is that hard to understand?
Bush reacted the day after the acquittal.
But we will see how the federal investigation goes
Hmm. Yeah they two different types. Obama aint really the type to just fly with whatever without consideration. I was talking about some of the responses in here. Like lets be realistic. Also there is not an Attorney General in place right now. All factors to consider.
Eric Holder is still staying on as Attorney General until the new nominee for the position is approved by Congress. -

He's not running anymore, why not commute sentences that would be shorter under today's laws? -
We are a nation inside a nation and when black people start thinking that, then their children will start thinking of nation building instead of trying to be citizens in a nation that is so aggressive to you.

...and that should have been the nail in the coffin for those cops
but whites only care for evidence and proof when its in their favor
they had something better than an eyewitness in the Ferguson situation, they had a witness on tape seconds after it happen yelling at cops what he just saw....and he was widely ignored

His actions still effect the party unfortunately. These ? are taught party is more important than principle or people. -
Ow now obama aint ?
Yall was fuckn crying when he got elected

When you were young? Lol. He actually hasn't been in the national spotlight for that long when you think about it compared to other politicians. his 'coming out party" was the '04 Democratic convention which was only 10 years ago. -

im only 26 -
If President Obama could pass the "The Michael Brown law" which entails every police officer to have a camera on them that wil be great.
-
lol but an investigation is happening though...? don't read apparently.
-
Saw this coming a long time ago. Black people don't like Obama, whites don't like Obama...
-
I hate how ? get hung up on this one issue like Obama hasn't been an exceptional President overall. He's done a lot more for the Country than simply dealing with Black issues; And not pandering to our issues alone ( or in dramatic fashion ) in no way takes away form his very long list of accomplishments over the last six years..
With that said, he should do what's already been done, and is being suggested by DL. -
If ? actually took the time to research and read, they would see Obama has done many great thing for the common american citizen. The easily remembered examples are job growth and lowering the debt dramatically.
? don't know tho, basing it entirely on racial issues instead of using a broader perspective.
What will suck is the next president stepping into the office. -
You people will miss Obama when he's gone....mark my words.

Didn't he already do that for a bunch of people with nonviolent drug offences? I'm not sure how it worked out.
http://www.npr.org/blogs/itsallpolitics/2014/04/23/306158891/a-path-out-of-prison-for-low-level-nonviolent-drug-offendersThousands of nonviolent drug offenders serving time in federal prison could be eligible to apply for early release under new clemency guidelines announced Wednesday by the Justice Department.
Details of the initiative, which would give President Obama more options under which he could grant clemency to drug offenders serving long prison sentences, were announced by Deputy Attorney General James Cole.
Cole listed six factors the Justice Department will use to "prioritize clemency applications" as part of the administration's effort to address long mandatory minimum sentences meted out after the ? -fueled crime wave of the 1980s. Those mandatory minimums were revised under the 2010 Fair Sentencing Act, designed to reduce the disparity between sentencing rules for ? and powder ? . -
Trayvon needs to be federal case before we even start w/ this case.
Can't keep up w/ all these dead black men.
The guy who cops shot in Walmart with the toy gun didn't get indicted either. -

If the media said it then it must be true? Right...
The only thing you can thank him for is being the mouthpiece for the American Socialist agenda. -

But a lot of police officers do not want body cameras on them we will see what will happen with this. -
look at obama as a ceo of a company
when rae rae gets in trouble for stealing boxes in the mailroom....even though he supposedly didnt
doesnt the department head for rae rae's section review his case, or does rae rae and his fam get to demand that the ceo look into it because he's from compton too? -
