For me this ? is a classic.
It isn't mainstream, it isn't what's gonna get played on radio, it isn't that music you can play to just anybody....but this is that ? for the hip hop heads, for the ppl that be looking for lyrics and content over anything else. Cole did his thing.
9.5/10
Standout tracks:
Fire Squad
January 28th
Wet Dreamz
A Tale Of 2 Citiez
G.O.M.D.
Apparently
Love Yourz
Thanks for the feedback Jermaine -
After one listen, I think this might be his best. Verdict still out, too early.

Not singling u out or nothin, but this is the only negative comment i seen on this album. A lot of people are sayin this is his best album, some are even sayin it's as good as his mixtapes. I haven't heard it yet, but im just goin by the general reactions. Waiting till i cop it on tues.

Didn't like Hello or G.O.M.D. Rest of album is dope.

This the Cole I was hoping for. The beginning of the album is reminiscent of the warm up. Seems like he just went with the flow And recorded how he felt about certain subjects. Clearly by the white taking over hip hop line. He could care less about backlash And critics. Although I could do without the singing as much. This is the closest we'll get to 09-10 J.Cole. that role models track is my favorite.his best production yet. No boring or sleep music here.
-
While I agree with y'all that this is the Cole I've been waiting for it was still inconsistent. The tracks I like I really like and then there are some tracks I wouldn't say are "bad" I just don't ? with em. He's definitely heading in the right direction, nothing seemed forced on this album
-
Album is aight better than his other 2 boring albums. Run the jewels 2 still aoty doe

Feel the exact same way -
fire squad is nice..
"so ahead of my time, even when I rhyme about the future I be reminiscin"
Damn Cole said that?
He's one of my favorite rappers but I don't look to him for that.
He's clearly gotten better lyrically -
I give it a 7/10
Standout tracks are
03 Adolescene
A Tale of 2 Citiez
Fire Squad
G.O.M.D.
Cool cd nice tracks didn't wow me didn't bore me either. -
Meh...I liked Born Sinner better
-
? gon hate but he might have his first classic with this one....
If the rest of the album sounds anything like Fire Squad then got dayum this gon be a good December LOLOLOLOL.
2014 Forest Hills Drive >>> Born Sinner >>> Sideline Story
Looks like J.Cole is finally finding his "sweet spot" as a musician. Yo on some tracks he's reminiscent of a young 2Pac. Sometimes Wale sounds like him too but more so Cole.... I'm not saying he's him by any means I'm just saying the tonality and passion in their voice on some tracks.
Another thing too, yall gotta realize that 2Pac, Jay-Z, Nas, 50 Cent, Lil Wayne, artists like that didn't really find themselves until albums 2 or 3 (and in some cases 4). Cole is ? DOPE and he's just getting started.
So you've only heard 1 track? -
Born sinner >> forest hill drive
-
Fire Squad is a mean ? track, especially that 3rd verse
-
Production was a bit disappointing
-
Just heard "Fire Squad" off the beef (yawn) hype, nice track. Will give the album a listen tmrw.
-
This ? is ok. Not in my top 5 or maybe even top 10 of year. Did not run back one track while listening, thats bad imo. Honestly think Born Sinner Deluxe Version is better. Warm Up and FNL is still his best ? tho.

January 28th been on repeat for a while now.

Thats my favorite track. Halfway through it, I'm thinking like oh ? , this ? might have one. Then the rest of the album played. It just wasn't a homerun to me, a nice double to left center though.
