The way that Mountain v Viper ? endin' was wack though can't lie

The fact that Oenamaus was 1 of (if not the) smartest fighter of his time (he trained Spartacus, Crixus & I think Gannicus too) and went 1 on 1 w/ Theokoles for hours (Ironman match ? ) & they had to declare Big O the victor simply b/c he outlasted him goes to show you that Theokoles aint no slouch. The Mountain was mostly revered for his size & cruelty. He wasn't as tactful as say a Jaime Lannister or Halfhand. Oberyn figured that out. Oberyn was prolly as good as Nazir n/h. The Mountain wasn't as good as Barristan Selmy, Arthur Dayne (? had the greatest name for a sword - The Sword of Morning) and other OG swordsmen of the time.
The story of Theokoles
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h3qewAh7gE0
Oenamaus was the original OG, it's not like those 2 were swinging widely until they got tired. Big O was throwing every strat at Theokoles. He was just as cunning as a warrior as he was ruthless as a monster. Remember Theokoles fought in the style of Dimacharius the same style as Oenomaus, Spartacus and Gannicus w/ 2 swords, and not only that but he managed to hold his own against 2 of the best in all of Rome......
No offense but what is that video supposed to prove? He killed a bunch of unskilled villagers. Then he killed a bunch of questionably skilled pirates. Then he killed a bunch of gladiators some of which were probably highly skilled warriors and some were probably unskilled slaves. There was nothing at all in that video that suggested he was highly skilled. In fact the video made it seem like he was a big tank. That makes him more or less the same as the Mountain. The difference is that we know for a fact that the Mountain had been trained since a child in the ways of combat. He wasn't just a big guy with a sword like some of you are claiming. And yes Martell beat him with cunning and skill, but lets not forget that he also used poison which dulled the Mountain's effectiveness over time. Again, that's a tactic Theokoles can't or won't use.
Some of ya'll are underestimating the Mountain though. He wasn't just some dude that went around fighting weaklings. He was a high level knight that had been fighting in wars as long as he could hold a sword. He might not have been as skilled as people like Selmy or Jaime, but make no mistake he was skilled. -
Bro this ? not even close Game of Thrones by a mile. If anything I would compare Spartacus to Vikings as they are both historical dramas. Game of Thrones is way deeper and they do violence and nudity better than spartacus. They're all good shows though.
I was shocked that the let this show air on t.v. Most gruesome show of all time.

It wasn't wack at all, it was perfect. The Mountain had an air of invincibility about him and Oberyn was seen to have no chance. For Oberyn to wash that ? in the fade like that, only to lose due to foolish pride after he had him beat was perfect. -

try watching a Dutch movie or two, loads of real sex scenes in there, they show the actual ? and ? like its porn lol. -
Idk about books and lore and ? , but judging based off of the combat in both the TV shows and how each character was depicted? Theokoles looks like he would handle the Mountain easily.
Looked like he was basically a way more agile mountain with the better weapon skillset, WAY more tactically sound, and a higher pain threshold. -

Part of it depends on if they are fight as they normally are. The Mountain fought exclusive in high grade armor. that would make a difference.
There's no way to really resolve this though because there is a different in philosophy in the two stories. As Sion implied, in Spartacus, gladiators are the supreme fighters and even elite soldiers are run of the mill fighters. However, in GoT, knights are continuously suggested to be the greatest fighters even when compared to other warriors like the Dothraki. Also, *safety spoilers*We're going to see gladiators in the story soon. Selmy will fight some of them and basically comment that gladiators are great warriors but are nothing compared to trained knights. -
In real life tho, I think Gladiators would be better than Warriors.
Warrior are better at war, but the actual engaging of combat I would say Gladiators would be better because their sole purpose was to ? -

It comes down to training and battle experience. I'd say gladiators would have an edge since they almost always fought one on one or in small groups where soldiers typically fought in large scale battles. However, the range in experiences for gladiators is probably a lot larger than with soldiers. After all, for soldiers that is their profession that they may have dedicated years to. Whereas gladiators could very well just be slaves that were thrown into that situation on a whim.
I'd say that being on the front lines for a bunch of wars and battles like that and coming out alive is more impressive to me than when a lot of duels in the arena. It's a lot harder to survive when you literally have people coming at you from every angle than it is when you really only have one person to be concerned about.
