LOL at the chances of Geno ever being a good NFL QB, the numbers from last year don't lie:
Smith=13 TD's/13 INT's (5 lost fumbles)
Fitzpatrick=17 TD's/8 INT's
I still don't understand how Geno was about to get a 3rd season to prove he could play in the NFL while E.J. Manuel couldn't even get a year and a half with the Bills.
You're comparing a guy in Geno that was not ready to play in the first place but in spite of that showed progress from year 1 to year 2. Still was inconsistent but showed progress and improved. Geno looked better in his first 2 years than Fitz looked in his 4th and 5th seasons.
If throwing 13 INT's and losing 5 fumbles against 13 TD's is some kind of marked improvement you're standards are waaayyyyy too low.
And the difference is Fitzpatrick was a ? 7th round pick out of Harvard while Geno was a 2nd round pick. Nobody drafted Fitzpatrick thinking they were gonna build a team around him and have him as their franchise QB. And no sorry in Fitzpatrick's 5th season he threw for 23 TD's/15 INT's. I'll take a +8 TO ration over -5 any day of the week.
In his 4th year starting 12 games 8 td's 9 ints, 5th year 9 td's 10 ints. And this was in his 4th and 5th seasons after sitting on the bench for 3 years. Geno who didn't know how to drop back looked much better than a guy in his 4th and 5th seasons after sitting for a few years. So the point being is that Geno can develop into a decent starter. He has the physical tools.
And still a better TO margin than Geno LOL.
Just face it Geno sucks on the field and is a ? off of it. IK did y'all Jets fans a favor by slumping his ass, now maybe y'all can actually win some games without Geno single handedly giving them away.
Is that all you have to hang your hat on? Geno had more turnovers but that does not change the fact that Geno showed more promise and has the benefit of upside whereas Fitz is older and you know what he is at this point. -

Welp that offense is looking smooth. I really think American Abdullah is going to be a star in this league. His ability to cut on a dime is very impressive.

Dude played 2 years on a bs team with no weapons... Why can't geno be allowed to play thru his mistakes and develop 3-4 years like other qbs? Why he gotta be cut after 2years and thrown away? ? that this microwave generation is silly.
Alex Smith been a starter every year in the league....and they have to damn near walk the receiver in his face to get that boy a completion -

It won't. Take it from someone who had him as their D Coordinator the defense always looks good at the beginning of his tenure, then it starts to suck and only gets worse. -

EJ SUCKS. He was average in college and the bills did him a favor by drafting him in the first round when in reality he was a 3rd 4th round project to begin with ...he didn't need to be starting ...he was far too raw out of college ...they ruined him by playing him that early actually ...everybody ain't manning ...some QBS need time to develop on the bench learn the game from the outside then get on the field -

That is why they hired Dennis Allen back. He is the back-up plan.
