Yo um so I just peepd Sion's post
.... this > TPAB
my opinion dont send them shottas -
Dont get stuck in the moment now brother
King kunta
Complexion
How much a dollar cost
Blacker the berry
Mortal man
This album definitely has at least 5 tracks to stand up to the ones i liked most on TPAB, which i still play today.
Give it some time to get old -
I'm not stuck in the moment. People treated TPAB like it was this super pro black album when it wasnt. Joey is saying a lot of ? Kendrick never goes full on with. Talking about Religion being a form of slavery.... Kendrick will never say that ? . That's enough for me.
My opinion on this album isnt gonna change in 5-10 months so why should I wait til then to say I think its the dopest ? to drop in a long time? -

I only gave it one listen tho so I'm a listen again cause there is a LOT of pro-TPAB posters here

This is what annoys me about rap/Hip-hop fans.. its a zero sum game... these two cats are both putting it down/ respecting the art and looking to impact positively with their music.

Super predator gets better n better with every listen statik selektah productions are smooth af ? real mellow
This and For my People and even Temptation are my favorites after 2 listens. That Temptation beat is fire AF to me. -
Btw I think this is an dope ass album but I'm not ready to call it AOTY yet. The year just started and I feel alot of good music is left
We got Logic, Kendrick ,Nas, Currensy, Potential Krit, etc so before I give him that I'ma wait. I just think this year in general is about to be a dope year for music.
Btw Joey stance on this album is not as clear and cohesive as I heard TPAB, so I don't see it surpassing that. But all in all it's a very dope album and very diverse in sound. I definitely see what he meant when he said he wanted to perform at Coachella
92/100 -
This is a great album, but it ain't better than TPAB.

is more of a pro black album. Kendrick album was never like that. It always about his demons and himself. He uses pro black themes to help himself become a better person -
Joey wasn't lying this album is vegetables for the soul.

Get out of your feelings. I never said TPAB wasn't a good album. -
Put this on Friday night while drinking and playing 2K with no prior exposure to dude. Was blown away about 3 tracks in. Ended listening to the entire album twice.
-
Tried to pick up a physical copy today. Best Buy in Brooklyn and Manhattan both sold out

"Quiet Storm" bass drums, "G.O.D. Pt 3" Scarface sample, the kick/snare sounds familiar too...
