I think people were ? because it looked like a Will Smith movie but we were tricked into watching a Jaden Smith flick
Plus the 2 did a big press tour to promo the film and we all found out what a ? weirdo Jaden is
I might be in the minority w/ this, but I thought that movie looked boogie (wack) as ? jus from the previews alone!
All I saw was Will in a crashed ship w/ a helmet on talkin' and Jaden nature hiking around a post apocalyptic earth while his Daddy is tellin' him don't be scurred.
I was not moved.

I agree though. Last brilliant movie Spike has made was Inside Man which was in '06? That's a decade of flops and average looking flicks
However I personally liked his interpretation of Oldboy
He makes brilliant documentaries too. Like the ones on Michael Jackson's Bad album and Kobe on court -

Lee's style is very heavy-handed (dare I say "preachy"...) which was suited for the movies he made in the 80s... now, not so much...
Although I'd love for him to prove me wrong, I've given him plenty of chances already to do so...

Massive Spike fan here. I try to catch everything he drops. Flop or not... I'd say I'm more into his filmmaking style especially the 'moving doll' technique

Spike Lee is on Larry Holmes status ,the way he directs doesn't mesh with today's audience. Watch if this movie gets terrible reviews fans are going to blame Spike Lee.
