    E3 2010: Four Natal Demos/Games Detailed

Microsoft has decided to give an advance look at Project Natal to build hype towards its ultimate big showcase at the Electronic Entertainment Expo. IGN wasn't there, unfortunately, but the LA Times was and have delivered a report.

The LA Times writes that these were described as tech demos, but the article goes on to state that the author assumes they will become available to the public eventually.

One game mentioned is the oft-seen Ricochet Rocket. This game was demoed at last year's E3 and has since been seen numerous times. In it, the player attempts to swat ? towards a wall using any part of their body.

Another demo shown has also surfaced on the Internet before. It is called River Rush and involves navigating a virtual raft as it floats past rocks and other similar obstacles. The game is said to require a lot of movement and has a look, "similar to what you'd find in snowboarding games."

The last two demos described have not been shown or detailed by Microsoft in the past. One is called Living Statue, which is more of a tool than a game. In it, Natal players can create dancing and singing videos with their Avatars and then mail them to other Xbox Live members.

Also new is Obstacle Course. It is described as a series of levels filled with obstacles, naturally, that resemble, "what you would find at a summer camp."

The article closes by stating that roughly one dozen games from publishers outside of Microsoft will be unveiled Monday and Tuesday at E3. Stay tuned.

E3 2010: Itagaki Game Announcement Coming Tonight
The producer promised an E3 reveal, but it looks like the reveal will come in advance!

Former ninja master Tomonobu Itagaki said at his blog earlier this week that his long awaited first project as an independent would be revealed at E3 next week. Actually, he was off by a few days. The reveal is happening tonight!

The Valhalla Game Studios' corporate site was updated with a notice promising a reveal for the game tonight on Spike TV. The reveal will be part of a pre-E3 show that will air at 8:30pm Pacific Time.

In addition to the Spike TV showing, Valhalla has granted interviews with online publications like Famitsu.com, Eurogamer and Kotaku.

In other words, expect some of the mystery behind Itagaki's new game to be cleared in less than 12 hours.

I'm stoked about a new Driver game. I think it's gonna be a REMAKE of the original. I seen the teaser, it shows a real car doing stunts in the parking lot. (burnouts, 180, reverse 180, weaving etc) Just like you had to learn in the first one, and he crosses out a check list of the stunts he needs to do. That's all it is, no game play or anything.

Today Tomonobu Itagaki, the man behind Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive, announced his latest project. Formally with Tecmo, Itagaki left that company to form Valhalla Studios and work on a completely new project. We got our first look at the game just days before E3 in Los Angeles.

As revealed by Kotaku, it is called The Devil's Third and will be an action-platformer with plenty of swords, guns, wall running, and violence. It is also reported that it will be both single and multiplayer and be released on both 360 and PS3. Keep your eyes open for more announcements as we get closer to the big show.

I thought it was going to be a 360 exclusive. MOF, so did IGN as the preview article was only on the 360 page and not the PS3 page.

VG247 has just been informed by an inside source close to Natal/Kinect that there will be two version of the camera controller when it hits the market. The most expensive one will run you $189.00.If you recall, there was a story a while back that the camera in Natal had be dumbed down a bit in order to make it cheaper. Well, we’ve been told by our source that Microsoft replaced that bit with tilt, that is controlled by a motor on the base – which has be known for a bit now. Kinect was outed as the name of the motion controller earlier by a Danish advert and USA Today.
    ----
    189 better include a console.

SMH @ trying to push an obvious play video as real time footage.

    340x.gif

The concept is cool I guess. but i would rather play something like this with a move or even the Wii.
